N.W.A. "STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON" FILM ANNOUNCED

Without a doubt N.W.A, made up of Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella, has had a huge impact on rap and on the music market in general. Today it was announced that Andrea Berloff will be writing the script to the movie “N.W.A. – Straight Outta Compton”, telling the rise and fall of the group. We cannot wait to see it and will of course keep you posted on the subject. ViaTHR.

In celebration of Priority Records 25th Anniversary, they will be doing a year long catalog campaign show casing the legendary "gangsta rap" label's most influential artists and recordings.  With a new Creative Chairman, Snoop Dogg will oversee the release of the several commemorative catalog titles beginning February 23rd with a new album called Snoop Dogg Presents: The West Coast Blueprint -- which includes 16 tracks of classic West coast rap songs and features artists like Ice Cube, Eazy-E, N.W.A, Yo-Yo, Mack 10 and more

So there is no official video for this but this is a classic nonetheless so usually if we can't find an official video we don't do it...but this is one of the pioneers for the West Coast, especially hip hop out of the Los Angeles area. You know the words...enjoy.

RIP EAZY E

Eazy E as we all know was a pioneer and legendary icon in hip hop. Part of the reason NWA came to be which has put a heavy influence in the rap game, PERIOD. Dying an unexpected death as victim of AIDS (which some don't even think it was), Eazy left even that much more of a mark as a nation took heed of a problem in our communities that was as horrifying as the gang violence; HIV/AIDS. Representing Compton to the fullest and introducing that city to the world, he also was one of the first hip hop executives and discovered mega-group (at the time) BONE Thugs N Harmony. Because (without any details) my nickname was derived from this man, and because he is a historic figure in the Los Angeles culture (especially hip hop), I have to pay homage. RIP Eric Wright...salute!!!
