Even though the main concentration of this site is to showcase all things cool within our city there is nothing wrong with a little "vacation" to see things outside of the city. Just as our local talent has been working and traveling and being accepted in other cities...our city should be open to hearing people from out of town. So with that said comes the new feature. Not sure how often I'll do this but I'm definitely doing it.
Today's profile is on Houston's own Hollywood Floss who has received attention from various websites such as Kevin Nottingham and The Smoking Section. With influences such as Lupe, Phonte, Andre 3000, NERD, Green Day and more, Floss is here to break the mold of what you may expect from "Houston Hip Hop". He has a project called "The Xperiment vol. 1", he had different blogs pick the tracks they liked, name them and place the in the order they liked. 2 major compilations came together and went into rotation. A very creative approach to interacting with the listeners. You can download the projects underneath. If you're feeling the emcee let me know and we'll continue to feature his stuff. He has an EP dropping in time for SXSW called "House of Dreams". I've also included a video of Hollywood Floss being interviewed by www.thehiphopeffect.com as well as giving them some bars. Peep it.
