Though I did not know Dolla personally, since the announcement of his death on Monday evening I have seen the impact he has had on people in our city. I don't mean the fans or the bandwagon folks who show love so they can get a pat on the back...I mean friends of mine and other contacts that knew the young man personally. A family I met, while hanging with Chris Focus, that had mixed, engineered and produced material for Dolla. Material that includes his video Make a Toast and this mixtape, ironically he had a session scheduled with them that he never made it to sadly. I've seen a good friend Diz Gibran share memories of the young man with his friends and fans via Twitter...and most of all I've seen my boy Skeme take it the hardest. Skeme had spoken of Dolla to me many times and always, you could tell he had a high regard of him. Everyone I know that came into contact with this young man spoke highly of him. Sad he "had" to go...you could see his potential and his ability to affect so many lives shows how good and real of a person someone is. RIP to Dolla and thoughts go out to the family and friends.
