Some of the last recordings Dolla was working on before he had his life cut short.  If you're a fan or just want to hear the young man and see some of the direction he was headed this is a good mixtape to check out.  The kid had star potential written all over him if some things could've fallen into place before his untimely death.

No more than 2 days after the 1yr Anniversary of his murder, Dolla's accused killer was acquitted of ALL charges.  It doesn't add up but I don't know all the details...but from what I read up on I don't see how the man was allowed to walk free.  Many believe that the jury was sympathetic to the killer because of his background compared to Dolla's background.  To highlight some of the positivity that Dolla was looking to put out to the world his people decided to leak this song to the masses as well as his fans, so they can remember Dolla as his family and friends do.  Enjoy.

DOLLA : R.I.P. 1 YEAR LATER...

A young man killed way too soon...his strong ties to our city touched many of the artists you listen to from Los Angeles today.  This day last year the young man was gunned down at the Beverly Center.  A tragedy; as far as the suspect that was arrested, I have no idea what his ultimate outcome will be, but many people in our city are waiting to see what becomes of it.  Shouts to Skeme and Cire to name a couple of the people who knew him as family, while the general public may only know him as the rapper named Dolla.

Though I did not know Dolla personally, since the announcement of his death on Monday evening I have seen the impact he has had on people in our city.  I don't mean the fans or the bandwagon folks who show love so they can get a pat on the back...I mean friends of mine and other contacts that knew the young man personally.  A family I met, while hanging with Chris Focus, that had mixed, engineered and produced material for Dolla. Material that includes his video Make a Toast and this mixtape, ironically he had a session scheduled with them that he never made it to sadly.  I've seen a good friend Diz Gibran share memories of the young man with his friends and fans via Twitter...and most of all I've seen my boy Skeme take it the hardest.  Skeme had spoken of Dolla to me many times and always, you could tell he had a high regard of him.  Everyone I know that came into contact with this young man spoke highly of him.  Sad he "had" to go...you could see his potential and his ability to affect so many lives shows how good and real of a person someone is.  RIP to Dolla and thoughts go out to the family and friends.  Below is a track that Skeme made for his friend Dolla.  Take a listen...and respect life, you never know when it will end. 1) I fux with Skeme, 2) I fux with his music, 3) he has his own lane on this LA scene and 4) I'm feeling this artwork.  Very abstract and unexpected I'm sure for the lane that many people would love to keep Skeme boxed in.  I'm anticipating this project as I've heard a good taste of it.  And from what I've hear already...you'll be pleased.  AND YES...he will be up on that sidescroll after he drops.  But with this new leak...I have to let Skeme give you his words.  This was a painful leak for him and after you read it you'll know why.

I listen to this song in tears missing my big brother and mentor in rhyme. I wanted to be like the man that died yesterday. This is hard to even type but I know that he watches over me with pride now just like he did when he was here. With that being said here's Commercial Break Four this was a commemoration for Chad "Pimp C" Butler but now my memories are also shared with Roderick Anthony "Dolla" Burton II you're gone but never forgotten. Peace and love to all of those reading this.

Skeme keeps it coming with some more music, this time featuring Dolla & Cire. Peep it out...Skeme is heavy on his grind and seems to live in the studio, I'm anticipating Nothing Short of Amazing on June 2nd (some ish I can bring to Miami).
