Part of the Cov Original Music group, A&R'd by Jansport J and a long time coming...here is BlakFace with their new album "Past Due".  There is more talent coming from the Cov and areas just outside of Los Angeles.  They are still L.A. hip hop in my opinion and should be supported just the same.  Peep them out...I already know ya'll were grooving to the single Cov Groove so continue on.

A duo out of West Covina that Jansport J put me onto a few weeks ago.  They'll be dropping an album "Past Due" through the newly formed Cov Original Music LLC label.  An introduction to the group below:

Blakface is an unique original hip hop group with sound blended live
compositions, and innovative yet conscious lyrics. Using the irony of the
blackface minstrel history, this group has set a purpose to reverse the
negativity seen in the minstrel era, to now not only look at just the
blackface surface but acknowledge the development and the progression we as
a society are trying to make. Authentic centric music created with an
hip-hop intellect Blakface is banging down borders, color lines,
limitations, and close mined boundaries while recognizing the past
generations ancestry and embracing the worlds culture today.

A new group out of West Covina that Jansport J put me onto the other day.  Then I got an email from Blakface member (Funk)Logik about their release.  Some info on them below:

Blakface is a group which consist of 2nd Cousins, The God Sincere and (Funk)Logik.This most recent project BLAKTASTIC VOL.1 is a collection of smooth tracks with soulful grooves, slick rhymes and has a bit of a '90s feel to it. This mixtape takes you on a tour from relationships and summer jams to common topics of late, including the current state of hip-hop and the rebirth that’s evolving in the hip-hop cultural. This project features top producers such as elite producer “Jansport J”, UK Monster “Josh G the Jass Kat”, L.A. underground sensation “Dj Rokem” and Mike “Latterborn” Wofford just to name a few. With lyrical appearances from “Poetik Force”, and “Avi the most ill”, the lavish and diverse featured appearances never over shadows the track.
