A new video for a track off of Hawdwerk's "unfairly overlooked" mixtape Off the Clock.  I believe he's dropping a remastered version that I'll make sure to post.  For now watch him get off some heavy bars with his Black Cloud homies Curtiss King and Noa James.

TREK LIFE x LOS ANGELES TIMES

Courtesy of Hawdwerk I came across this article about Trek Life.  Check it out the dude has been making major moves independently and representing West Covina, Los Angeles and California in general while doing it.  Also check out this new single from his Everything Changed Nothing LP called Due West which really looks into the history of the people of Los Angeles.  The conceptual record has no hook which is unique for a single.  Enjoy and spread the word.  Once again the article is here.

If you missed their performance at the legendary Fat Beats LA on Melrose then here is some footage from the event.  If you didn't know, Fat Beats will be closing at the end of the month so for up and comers like Hawdwerk and Jansport J to perform their in it's closing weeks is quite the accomplishment.  I hear there is more footage on the way.  Stay tuned.

Like we've been telling ya'll for the last few weeks...Curtiss King drops his newest mixtape on the masses today.  Presented by myself, Black Cloud Music and just recently the good man DJ Booth.  It's been a pleasure getting to know this talented artist and hearing the music he's been making.  After concentrating on his production side of things he felt it was time to get back in tune with his emcee side.  He took a back seat on production for this project and reached out to is peers and got beats from Tae Beast (Top Dawg Ent.), Jansport J, Captain, Willie B, J Bizness and more...through this project Curtiss King looks to share his experiences as multi-faceted artist on the verge of blowing up while still being a victim of the recession and its effects on his personal finances.

With features from his Black Cloud family (Noa James, FaimKills) as well as other local emcees like Hawdwerk, Lite, Finess, Raven Sorvino, Stevie Crooks and Ab-Soul expect to hear some great music layered with concepts, lyrics and ill production.
