As you know recently Fat Beats in LA and NY had to close, well the good people of LA Stereo TV were able to talk to the owner of the Fat Beats label and retail stores about Fat Beats, it's legacy and more.  If you really love hip hop you'll take the time to check this out.

FAT BEATS LA FINALE (PHOTO RECAP)

Here are a few pics from the final performance day at Fat Beats LA.  Ras Kass, Kurupt, Dilated Peoples, Strong Arm Steady, Planet Asia and more took the stage.  They also brought out Xzibit as a surprise guest.  It was packed as the windows and walls were sweating.  A good time for all the fans and history for hip hop.  I got limited photos but take a look at a few more right over here.

SPTV: FAT BEATS LA CLOSING SHOW f. XZIBIT, KURUPT, PLANET ASIA, RAS KASS, STRONG ARM STEADY, DILATED PEOPLES & MORE... (VIDEO)

This was quite the event and a proper to bid farewell to Fat Beats.  I was there and it was like an overpacked sardine package.  You could feel the heat once you got near any door...the windows were "sweating" and the vibes were great.  Women, men and even some younger folks squeezed in reciting various verses from various artists word for word.  History was made when Kurupt and Planet Asia began freestyling for the crowd then had Xzibit take the stage so that 3 Card Molly could be performed with Ras Kass.  It was dope and not everyone could get in but many folks crowded the balcony area just to be close to history.  Enjoy the video.

FAT BEATS LA IN-STORE EVENT (SUNDAY) - L.A. UPRISING (PHOTO RECAP)

A handful of photos from the In-Store I put together with Next-N-Line Ent. at Fat Beats LA on Melrose this past Sunday.  It was a packed house as folks from all over came to see El Prez with the TreeHouseClub (DNEZ, Chris Focus), Skeme and the SOX Fam (Lite, Cire), Language Artz (Picaso, Raven Sorvino, Thr33zy McFly, A.T.), Curtiss King, ICON, Radio, Stix and H.O.P.E. rock live.  It was a dope show to help shut down Fat Beats with a bang.  The rest of the photos are right here.  Big shout out to DJ Printz Paul for holding down 90% of the music too.

2MORROW: HUMP DAY at FAT BEATS LA w/ TiRON, AYOMARI, CASEY VEGGIES, BAMBU, PERFECTO & TUNJI

Fat Beats keeps the party going with more L.A. Hip Hop this Wednesday night.  You see the lineup, there are free drinks from 5-6pm and performances from 5-7pm.  Historic place, quality acts and FREE drinks...can't go wrong there.  So I'll see you tomorrow.  Shouts to TakingYouOver.com of course for putting this together.

SUNDAY: FAT BEATS LA IN-STORE featuring LOS ANGELES HIP HOP

It's going down...El Prez with the TreeHouseClub, Skeme with the SOX family, H.O.P.E., Language Artz, ICON, Stix, Curtiss King and Radio all under one roof.  All these acts are preparing to tear it down for ya'll as they help the legendary Fat Beats go out with a bang.  I plan on seeing you all there.  Plenty of unreleased music will be performed so you DO NOT want to miss this.

HAWDWERK & JANSPORT J LIVE at FAT BEATS LA (VIDEO)

If you missed their performance at the legendary Fat Beats LA on Melrose then here is some footage from the event.  If you didn't know, Fat Beats will be closing at the end of the month so for up and comers like Hawdwerk and Jansport J to perform their in it's closing weeks is quite the accomplishment.  I hear there is more footage on the way.  Stay tuned.

PAC DIV @ FAT BEATS

Came out to this as I ran into Mibbs before he was headed over to the in-store, we come in check the surroundings, talk to the Pac boys, head to the car to grab the camera equipment walk back up and we had missed this quick set. So now people like myself that missed it can catch it here. Shouts to Drew for having this at his spot.

RAEKWON at FAT BEATS

Raekwon was at the famous hip hop shop on Melrose to promote his new album OB4CL2 which is in stores now. Go support if you haven't already. Raekwon shows a lot of love to LA's scene, music and fashion, so support him. In the meantime check out this recap.

A PAC DIV CATCH-UP...

Pac Div on Alexa Chung

So some of ya'll might be wondering, where is PAC DIV...they're where they're supposed to be, keeping busy hard at work. I ran into the fellas this past Sunday. I was chilling with Mibbs at an undisclosed location when he reminded me of their in-store at Fat Beats. He also updated me on the Pac Div video that dropped later that night and that they filmed a video for Whiplash (one of my favs). They also were on Alexa Chung's show on MTV. So with that said I catch you up with all I learned and lend some visual assists via the blog.
