Strong Arm Steady steady working as they drop an unreleased track from Arms & Hammers in celebration of their newest video getting on MTV today.  A little background on the song before you get all riled up...

STRONG ARM STEADY - ARMS & HAMMERS: THE FOUNDATION (VIDEO)

Arms & Hammers: The Foundation is a short 15-minute film about everyday life in the City of Los Angeles. It follows three young men who approach survival differently but all-in-all have the same purpose throughout. The characters by no means reflect the individuals in Strong Arm Steady directly, but more so we believe they reflect the individual in us all, which is the basis of SAS music and Arms & Hammers. I guess you can call it the ghetto’s duality. The film was written and directed by me & my bro Picaso (LAC). We came with the vision beginning to end. STRONG ARM STEADY x CURTIS MAYFIELD - MAKINGS OF YOU (PROD. PETE ROCK)

I actually did this artwork...I didn't know that the song had dropped because of holiday activities.  The song hit the ground running and even stirred up some controversy over at 2DBZ.  So remember that video of DJ Khalil & Pete Rock I posted earlier...?  Well this song is supposedly the result of that time period.  Now it was originally intended for the Strong Arm Steady album but it was taken off...then Kanye West used this for the song The Joy...as you know that did not make Kanye's album BUT was used in the GOOD Friday series.  And with it being a free leak...it seems even Rah Digga decided to put it to use for herself.  Either way the sample uses the great Curtis Mayfield and as a hip hop fan we're used to hearing familiar samples.  Either way take a listen and enjoy.  SAS posted it on their soundcloud but it exceeded the download limit...so since it caused a lil stirrup over at the Dope House we'll borrow their link.

FAT BEATS LA FINALE (PHOTO RECAP)

Here are a few pics from the final performance day at Fat Beats LA.  Ras Kass, Kurupt, Dilated Peoples, Strong Arm Steady, Planet Asia and more took the stage.  They also brought out Xzibit as a surprise guest.  It was packed as the windows and walls were sweating.  A good time for all the fans and history for hip hop.  I got limited photos but take a look at a few more right over here.
