Dubcnn had the great opportunity to sit down with a legend in the game, the Bay Area's own Too Short, at his recording studio in Oakland. We speak to Short about age limits in Hip-Hop and his motivation to never stop rapping. Short compares the grind on the streets pushing tapes out of the trunk to today's world where artists grind online and blast their music out to blogs and connect with their fans on the internet. As one of the first artists to talk about pimpin' and mackin' on records, we ask Short his opinion on Kat Stacks and other "e-groupies" trying to get some fame off sleeping with rappers. Too Short tells us about the creation of E-40's smash hit "Bitch" and how he ressurected an old record and turned it into a big success. We also get a few words on Short & E-40's upcoming collaboration project "The History Channel" and why this time it's coming out for real. Society is changing at a rapid pace and its imperative that people are aware of what is occurring around them.  "GhettoPhysics" is the first film of its kind to breakdown the correlation between the Pimp-Ho dynamics of Prostitution with the Pimp-Ho realities of the American Capitalist system. The film stars the likes of Cornel West, Ice T, Too Short, Filmore Slim, John Perkins, Cynthia Mckinney, Norman Lear, E. Raymond Brown and many more.

To raise awareness of the film, a song writing contest will be held beginning August 2010.  Rules and regulations for the Song writing contest can be found on the contest site ghettophysicscontest.com.  The 1st place winner will receive $2500, as well as a spot on the films soundtrack (2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded as well).

KENDRA WILKINSON SHAKES IT FOR TOO SHORT at 93.5 KDAY'S KRUSH GROOVE CONCERT 2010

You may remember Kendra "rapping" on MTV before she got married, had a baby, received a reality show.  Well on the show Too Short was her "rap mentor" and the two became friends.  Well during Too Short's performance at Krush Groove this past weekend, Kendra came to support Short Dog by shaking her ass to Blow the Whistle on stage.  Jokes indeed...check it out.

SNOOP DOGG x DJ QUIK f. NIPSEY HU$$LE : HOW THE WEST WAS ONE (PHOTO RECAP)

Finally got the pictures from the concert up.  As you can see the west coast was heavily represented with a balance of new and old.  Nipsey held it down for the new west as did Problem as he was the surprise guest of DJ Quik and got Quik's set started off right.  Quik also brought 2nd II None with him and they ran through plenty classics.  Snoop closed up with a mix of old and new.  His surprise guests included DPG, The Lady of Rage, RBX, Too Short and Xzibit.  He was able to run through hits from the Death Row days all the way to songs from the upcoming album Malice In Wonderland.  It was a good night.  Some miscommunication ended up in my media pass disappearing but I made the best with the camera I was able to get in plus the limited access I was given.  I have more pics but I was feeling these the most.
