KDAY: Sold and Ready for Reformatting

Speaking of Los Angeles legends coming to an end, KDAY has been sold and rumored to no longer be a hip-hop station. Though I wasn't always on board with some of the things KDAY did when it re-emerged as an FM station, the station did plenty for the city of Los Angeles. You never really appreciate these types of things until they are gone. A big salute to KDAY, for better or for worse the station will ultimately be missed.

LMAO: BLACK DATING in a HIP HOP SOCIETY (VIDEO)

I've seen this make it's way around the internets and thought it was funny, partly because it's pretty true.  My friends (women and men alike) have this conversation all the time...what I just found out was that this was created by someone in Los Angeles by the name of John Lott.  Check it out.  There are other related videos but this is the one that started it all.

DAVID BANNER & 9TH WONDER - OKAYPLAYER TV INTERVIEW (VIDEO)

For the latest edition of OKPTV, we get caught up with David Banner & 9th Wonder. The two emcee/producers plan on putting out a collabo album, Death of A Pop Star later this summer. Two weeks ago, Peter Rosenberg held a special event (which was open to the public), An Evening With…, to interview the duo, take questions from the fans, and to preview music off the upcoming LP. OKPTV was in the building to cover the event as well as get our own Q&A in. The two speak about how they linked up, their common background in education, some of the things they argue about, and 9th Wonder’s criteria for emcees to collaborate with. Shout out to Sidik and Yahya (director & editor) for putting this together. Look for part 2 coming soon.

DEVI DEV on DAILY BRUIN A&E | HIP HOP APPRECIATION MONTH at UCLA (VIDEO)

I remember this panel that Devi Dev spoke on, I told ya'll about it.  Broccoli City helped put it together, it had Melyssa Ford, Little X, Nipsey Hussle, Tony Touch and of course Devi Dev.  Well they did this interview at some point that day.  Anyways what Dev talks about here reminds me of a dope music conversation we had awhile back.  Check it out.
