In celebration of the 100th Murasaki Sports store opening, the Japanese shops got together with Nixon to collaborate on The Player and The Rubber Player models. Both styles come in black colorways, one in metal, the other one in rubber, featuring contrasting neon accents on the dial. Further details about the collaboration have been engraved on the back of the cases. - HighSnobiety

NIXON SPRING 2010 WATCH COLLECTION

Here is a good look at what Nixon has cooked up for their spring drop...as you can see they have a variety of pieces to offer and some seem to be very experimental compared to what I've been posting for most of 2009.  Some of the usual suspects (such as the Rubber Players) are still around in new colors.  The first drops should start happening towards the end of this month...so stay in touch with your normal Nixon retailers.

NIXON HOLIDAY 2009 ORANGE RUBBER PLAYER

Not to be confused with the Fluro Orange Nixon Rubber Player that was released in August, the holiday version adds a couple small details to set it apart...namely the black hands and the diamond at the bottom.  Just enough subtle change in detail to make a big difference...it's what fashion is all about.  This will drop this month at your regular Nixon retailers.

As seen on HighSnobiety:

Nixon worked with Paul Rodriguez on a set of Rubber Players exclusive to his Encino, California-based shop Primitive. The watch comes in two colors: purple, representing the LA Lakers; and black, which draws from Primative’s signature color. Technically, the timepiece features a 3-hand Japanese Quartz movement, a silicon band, custom-engraved caseback with an amethyst or aquamarine stone and Primitive wordmark at the 6 o’clock position. Drops on November 14, 2009.
