KDAY: Sold and Ready for Reformatting

Speaking of Los Angeles legends coming to an end, KDAY has been sold and rumored to no longer be a hip-hop station. Though I wasn't always on board with some of the things KDAY did when it re-emerged as an FM station, the station did plenty for the city of Los Angeles. You never really appreciate these types of things until they are gone. A big salute to KDAY, for better or for worse the station will ultimately be missed.

50 CENT x CNBC: DISCUSSES BOOK, 50TH LAW OF POWER

I saw the ThisIs50 press about the book earlier but didn't post it...then thanks to Ken Billups I saw the CNBC clip at the top. As much flack as he gets because he's Curtis aka 50 Cent, you really have to applaud him for dominating hip hop for years then looking to step out of his genre to make more money. No matter how much you hate, it's actually more amazing that he was able to obtain the Vitamin Water deal without it being rap related. It wasn't an endorsement deal, he invested his money into the product and reaped the benefits. Though the 50th Law of Power applies to things in the music industry, it's really how 50 applies these things personally (not musically) to co-author this book. This could turn out to be a big seller...and if so the book is not to promote an album, it's truly another product that is promoted separately. Though 50 will drop a mixtape to promote it to the hip hop community...he has to make the other rounds like CNBC to actually promote the book to demographic who enjoy reading these types of books. Check it all out and step your business ideas up...and some of you hip hop heads may actually be able to relate to these ideas better with someone of a hip hop inner city background showing how it applies to their life.
