What you need to know about the homie's project: Track number 15 on ...one rifle per family. was produced by Karman, a high school youth who honed his skills as a student of Sessions LA - a youth and student workshop series that DJ Phatrick helped develop in the Historic Filipinotown district of Los Angeles. Karman has since found his own voice as an experimental Hip Hop producer with a very unique sound. After hearing what Karman had done with an old Tommy Wright III record on his Soundcloud, Bambu asked Karman to replicate such for his latest Beatrock release. After the release of the music video for Lean, Bambu once again sought out Karman to put together this 5-song Free(EP), The Lean Sessions. Something to play to help get you through your work day... “Something” is a song that was released this past March, during Women’s History Month in hopes of raising awareness about violence against women. These are the accompanying visuals, by Oishi Media, starring Tep Castillo. The Hip Hop community rarely takes a firm stance against such issues and often times celebrates such acts – “…all I heard was Poppa don’t hit me no more…” This song will be included on the re-release of Exact Change on the bonus disc titled, Short Changed dropping on April 29th. – Bambu.

I feel like I've posted this already...but anyways:

The latest music video from Bambu, “Paper Thin,” pairs the Los Angeles emcee with Chace Infinite (half of the West Coast supergroup, Self Scientific). The newest song from the EP, …paper cuts… released earlier this year, aggressively attacks the active gentrification in urban America. The music video was shot in New York City, between Woodside, Queens and the Lower East Side in Manhattan. Bambu’s next project sees him teaming up with DJ Muggs for a mixtape dropping on Soul Assassins before the year’s over. Also, the highly anticipated hat collaboration between Bambu x Soul Assassins x Pnoy Apparel will drop in conjunction with the mixtape.

Before we move forward let's look at something serious for a sec...

On January 1, 2009, local Oakland transit police murdered Oscar Grant in cold blood. His murderer is currently on trial in Los Angeles, and the jury is currently in deliberation. We are days away from a verdict and Bambu decided to take to the intersection of Florence and Normandie in his hometown of LA to send a message of solidarity to the people of Oakland. Bambu pushes for safe and calculated mobilizing, but makes it a point to encourage the natural emotion that people may be overwhelmed with if the verdict is not a just one.

Organize. Strategize. Project.
