BEHIND THE HUSTLE presents BUILDING AN INDUSTRY w/ BLVCK SCVLE, CROOKS & CASTLES and DIAMOND SUPPLY CO. (PHOTO RECAP)

A private closed event went down at Attic this Saturday as Behind the Hustle presented a career panel for aspiring streetwear designers.  The panel featured the homies Mega of Black Scale, Nick Diamond of Diamond (of course) and Dennis from the Crooks & Castles family.  They spoke on starting out, influences, obstacles, how they got to where they are now as well as insider secrets.  They also fielded questions from the packed audience and UStream viewers.  Shouts to TK Nguyen and his crew as well as the folks at Attic for doing a such a dope event.  Shouts to IM King also because they powered The Lime Truck that was on hand to feed the guests (and that display that I saw Alex of IM King put together by hand still standing tall in the store).  Swaggiest highlight of the day, the homie Mega's socks.

South Florida producer Numonics has joined forces with IM KING,RubyHornet and DJBooth to bring listeners his latest release, Being Cool Doesn’t Pay the Bills.

Produced entirely by Numonics and blended by Chicago’s DJ RTC (of RubyHornet & Closed Sessions), the 21-track project finds the up-and-coming beatsmith enlisting a diverse cast of rising stars and established heavyweights to pay testament to the hustle that is required to survive and thrive in today’s music game.

The project contains new and unreleased music from the likes of Donny Goines, Reks, Shawn Chrystopher, Sene, Shawn Jackson, Co$$, BK Cyph, RAtheMC, El Prez, JtheS Wrekonize, QuESt, TreaZon, ThreatZ, Dre Biggity, Saheed, DJulien, Streets Buchanon, Butta Verses, Nero, Lex One and Paul Lewis (of PaulnotPaul).

SHAWN CHRYSTOPHER , EL PREZ & J the S (prod. NUMONICS) - SHOOTIN' COPS (DOWNLOAD)

Speaking of Shawn Chrys...

As my album "Being Cool Doesn't Pay The Bills" drops this Monday, March 29th, I wanted to share a no DJ version of my record with Shawn Chrystopher, El Prez and J The S. The track is entitled "Shootin' Cops" and features J on the hook with Shawn starting off the record with one of my favorite verses from him. This is basically my IM KING anthem as all four of us have connections to the brand.

"Being Cool Doesn't Pay The Bills" will be made available by DJBooth.net and IMKING.com on March 29th and features Donny Goines, Reks, Sene, Co$$, Shawn Jackson and more. The 21 track LP is mixed by DJ RTC of Ruby Hornet & Closed Sessions with art by UNKLE LUC and mastering by Hazardis Sounds.
