EAZEE LIVING: LIFEGUARD TOWER / LAZAR DESIGN BUILD

A dope residence in Hermosa Beach that you may or may not have driven by on your way to the beach over that way.  This isn't the only oceanic themed design that Steve Lazar has made.  Check out more via ArchDaily:

Designer/Builder Steve Lazar has grown up with the ocean his entire life. As an avid surfer and a craftsman, he has always been inspired by iconic seaside architecture. Piers, sailboats, custom yachts and destinations such as the Hawaiian islands continue to inspire his work. Many of the custom homes he has designed create the ambiance of an idyllic island adventure.
His latest home, The Lifeguard Tower, rises three stories high on a corner lot with an expansive view of Hermosa Beach. The architecture is comprised of three trapezoidal structures, one atop the other. From the base, the residence narrows as it reaches the “look-out” tower room that gives onto a picturesque,1,600-square-foot grass-covered entertainment and dining deck facing the ocean. EAZEE LIVING: DIAMOND HOUSE / XTEN ARCHITECTURE

Interesting blend of shape and fashion dynamics to create a unique space for a sound studio.  The structure is built into the mountainside of an area in Santa Monica.  The project was completed in December 2009.  Here is some of the breakdown that was on ArchDaily:

The Diamondhouse is a sound studio and office extension to a house located deep in a canyon, against a severely sloping hillside, with minimal access and little space upon which to build. Direct sunlight reaches the site for only a few hours a day. The geotechnical condition is challenging, requiring 30-foot caissons to underpin new walls and foundations. Some random "pieces" of furniture that you can place in your homes.  They got my attention yet I have no idea where I would put either of these.  So I had to share.  The clock can be found here and the sink over here.

EAZEE LIVING: TREEHOUSE/RPA

Whether used as a guest house or sanctuary from what goes on in the main house, this "tree house" is an upgrade over the ones you see in cartoons and family sitcoms.  The TreeHouse has a water closet, runs a TV, refrigerator, fireplace and has a daybed.  I could use this as office space I promise.  For more details hit ArchDaily.  The TreeHouse is tucked in the Nichols Canyon of Los Angeles

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 X FUTURA

Futura places his touch on another Air Force 1 design and I'm digging it...I may have showed you this one already but I'm posting either way because it looks like the House of Hoops is going to carry this particular shoe, and because of that I don't know how I want to take that. These will be available in 2010.

EAZEE LIVING: VENICE STUDIO by RICHARD ALDRIEDGE

I had these pics sent to me by someone who checks out my blog and enjoys it. His name is Richard Aldriedge and I wanted to highlight something he did. This studio is located in the Venice area and as Richard told me "My intention, by having the doors overlooking the alley, was to make this usually ignored street space more interesting". The layout is very innovative and in some regards seems almost surreal. If you have more questions about the place contact Richard here.

EAZEE LIVING: LIMITED EDITION, FUTURISTIC GAS STATION by KANNER ARCHITECTS

So I'm looking through Arch Daily again seeing what they have and if there are some new spots in the city to cover and I come across this. If you live in LA you've seen this United Oil Gas Station and for years were probably like what are they doing with this. Then you saw it open and were either over it or eager to see why all this was made. As cool as it looks I was not expecting this gas station in the hood to take a post on Arch Daily, I mean you've seen the other places I've posted and the neighborhoods many of them are in. But we wouldn't be repping LA if we didn't do this. For design details go here. This was also done by Kanner Architects.

EAZEE LIVING (LIMITED EDITION): OAKLAND HOUSE - KANNER ARCHITECTS

So obviously this isn't a house in Los Angeles but since a good number of L.A. residents will be in the Bay this weekend I felt it was a good coincidence I came across this house here in Oakland. I haven't expected to see anything like this in Oakland, more so San Francisco so of course this caught my eye. The house was designed by Kanner Architects and went into production back in 2007, word is it was a $2.5 Million project, nice. Below is a small insight into the house. Located in Oakland, California, on a down-sloping site high above the San Francisco Bay, this home was designed to capture the magnificent vistas spanning from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge. Floor-to-ceiling glass clears the way to unobstructed views. The predominantly south-southwest orientation required deep overhangs to cut down glare and soften the light quality in the home.
