NIKE Black History Month Collection Drops This Weekend

Select Nike retailers will be carrying this collection that releases tomorrow. I'm really feeling the collection on the basketball side of things [pictured above]. You've seen the campaign "Be Bold. Be True" in an earlier post and now I get to show off the details. My personal favorites are the Kobe's and the bomber jacket. Hit the jump to see the details of each shoe as well as the lifestyle shoes and apparel.

NIKE: "AIR FORCE 1 - ANATOMY OF AN URBAN LEGEND" (TRAILER)

The Air Force 1 is Nike’s best seller and most popular all-time shoe. It evolved from being worn on court in the 1980s into an off-court icon. Even today, almost three decades later, it’s still revered in sneaker culture. Its iconic, timeless design still boasts strong sales around the world to this day. From limited edition styles, to special design collaborations, the style is kept fresh and unexpected with each drop. Nike has helped maintain excitement in the Air Force 1 by introducing over 1700 models with different colorways and material combinations since its birth.
“Air Force 1: The Anatomy of an urban Legend” is a feature-length documentary about Nike’s Air Force 1, a 29-year old basketball shoe turned NYC style staple, turned cultural icon, turned global phenomenon. The film traces the roots of the Air Force 1 and documents its rise, presenting a unique case study in the history of design, sports, and culture.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 FOAMPOSITE

You can read what they said below then tell me what you think...part of the Fall 2010 lineup:

“It’s a dream come true. This Fall, Nike resurrects the out-of-this-world technology of 1997’s Foamposite matching up with a true footwear icon. Originally found on the feet of NBA superstars as well as forward-thinking East Coast urbanites, Foamposite utilized a then groundbreaking two-mold process, delivering an unprecedented upper shape, color and feel giving the shoe a truly futuristic look. It delivered on a new level of performance durability, support and protection. To satisfy the craving that’s persisted since the end of the twentieth century, Nike brings back Foamposite, combining it with the Air Force 1, for an absolutely seamless new slice of basketball footwear.
The legendary AF1, born in 1982 when Bruce Kilgore introduced Nike Air to the game of basketball, is a classic hoop shoe, adopted for the streets and for its style. It’s the sneakerhead’s sneaker, and has been evolving ever since. This evolution sees Nike bring together the best of both worlds. Significant creative thinking and new engineering to create a three-mold process that eliminates the seams on the upper. The shoe also draws on the original Foamposite design, utilizing a midsole that allows consumers a window into the soul of the shoe. Seamless Foamposite, in an Air Force 1.”

Air Force 1 Supreme Hi QS
Inspired by the outdoors and workwear, Nike’s new Air Force 1 Supreme Hi QS are made from a premium quality leather. The upper invokes memories of the crafted leatherwork traditionally used in boots with a deep red/brown. The contrast stitching, two-tone laces, and metal lace holes add to the workmanship feel of the shoe.
Air Force 1 Hi Supreme TZ

Nike continues a long running tradition of creating Air Force 1s celebrating Basketball’s annual All-Star game. This year with a subtle design uses premium-perforated leather to give depth and detail to create a simple, clean Air Force 1 Hi. The signature Red, White and Blue of the highly anticipated All-Star Game are represented in a refined heel logo. The shape of the logo draws references from Dallas, Texas, with the Eastern and Western Conferences noted in Blue and Red respectively.

Women’s Air Force 1 Stud Premium LE QS
The Air Force 1 hasn’t seen an exclusive women’s release in a while, but this design is worth waiting for. Made from premium quality black leather upper to create a sleek and sharp look. With its subtle detailing, the design minimizes print and embroidery, instead making a mark with its heel rivets and fastening. The rivets add to the shoes dark and sophisticated feel.

The Supreme Hi QS will drop February 3rd at Nike Sportswear stores and the other two will drop on the 6th as select Nike Sportswear accounts.  Get yours, I need the Supreme Hi QS like ASAP.
