BR - THE TAKEOVER (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

I posted some of BR's videos before but now she's back with her full mixtape.  Some songs you may recognize while others are definite original songs.  With beats from producers like THX, it's obvious she's made some people take notice of her talents.  I've actually known her since she was a child so I'm proud to see her chase her dreams, I know she'll do it right and that the music is in her, she's Ray Charles' grand daughter.  You may have heard her on Dom Kennedy's "From The Westside, With Love" among other things.  Check her out and spread the word.  Shouts to BR, I see you.

Just in time for the long weekend comes the laid back, chilled, Cali vibe of The Freshmen's "Hello There" music video, directed by Mike Ho of One Shot Media. I discovered this song last summer via the homeboy Bad Lucc, and immediately loved it. I sent it to a few of you and it got some great feedback - now the visuals are here for everyone's eyeballs. Look for HUGE things from these guys very soon.

Here are some more photos courtesy of me from the release party for Animal Style! that went down last Wednesday.  THX, Hawdwerk, Jansport J, Basicali, Aja (of House of Pretty) Dale Danja, and more were in attendance to support El Prez and watch him rock with FCC fam DNEZ & Chris Focus.  NoOne (Dae One & Noni Spitz) rocked out as well.  I'll have footage of Dae One making a beat on the spot for Noni to freestyle to a bit later today.

THE FRESHMAN f. MARTY JAMES - CONTACT (NEW MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

Some talent that Bad Lucc put me up on awhile ago and I actually posted one of their tracks last year.  This is a new song featuring Marty James and is produced by THX.  Word on the streets is that THX will be producing their next project entirely.  Sounds good already and the track goes.  Something to break away from the normal hip hop boom bap I supply you guys with.  This is just cool music.  Peep it.

THE FRESHMEN - HELLO THERE

Bad Lucc sent this over to me yesterday and I forgot to post it...smh at myself. Shake has it up so I'm going to swipe his link. Read below to get a background on the group:

Put the Gorillaz, Outkast and the Beastie Boys together in a cheap motel room with a microphone and you may come close to the sound of The Freshmen. The group consists of three members; Kristo (mc), A. Wolf (mc) and THX (producer) hailing from the Bay Area and Los Angeles, California. Their first single, “Hello There” ft. Nio Tha Gift has already garnered them both critical acclaim and a growing presence on the radio dial. Currently they are hard at work on their upcoming debut.
