DRAKE ON THE EVOLUTION of MIXTAPES w/ MTV (VIDEO)

MTV Shows

“I think that when creating a mixtape, you have to approach it with a selfless mind-set,” Drake told us. “A mixtape can’t be the songs that don’t make your album, or songs that aren’t good enough to make your album make your mixtape — unless you’re that good. There aren’t that many people that are that good. I’m not that good. That mixtape [So Far Gone] is me working my hardest. It wasn’t ‘Oh, here are the songs I’m gonna give away to you ’cause I have better songs coming.’ A mixtape has become an album.

Very valid point from Drake.

DRAKE NOMINATED at 52nd GRAMMY AWARDS (VIDEO)

If he wins a grammy off of a mixtape that was free, and even though it was re-released as an EP it barely sold...so therefore this will be historical if Drake pulls this off.  And if he pulls this off my predictions of the music industry will be correct.  Pay attention aspiring artists...PAY ATTENTION to your so-called industry.  And did Shepard Fairey design the Grammy artwork???  Looks like his work...

DRAKE - FEAR

This is a dope record, Drake's camp over at October's Very Own dropped it for ya'll so I'm just making sure ya'll see it. This is the song that will be on the So Far Gone EP...the one that will end with the line that will start the actual album "Thank Me Later". So Far Gone the EP will be available on iTunes and Amazon on September 15th and will feature choice selections (mostly the original material) and this brand new record here. Enjoy.

TREY SONGZ x DRAKE - SUCCESSFUL (VIDEO)

Basically we've been waiting to see this...it dropped while I was gone so I feel this HAS TO BE a part of my catch up this week. I mean I give you Drake updates where I can and this is one of my favorite tracks of the summer. Enjoy.

DRAKE - MTV INTERVIEW

MTV Shows

Drake elaborates on his powerful and very popular track 'Successful' which will be the next video. He touches on the emotions behind some of the lyrics as well as how the track even came to be. And to get a lil more personal with Drake peep this ABCNEWS story that Meka posted.

DRAKE - BEST I EVER HAD (VIDEO)

So f___ what the consumer/critics say...and I mean the consumers who think they're critics, the video is what it is. A video for a track off a mixtape that you can happen to get on iTunes. Kanye directed it so it's probably not for any of us to actually understand thoroughly (see Flashing Lights video). Drake just signed on Monday, why people are expecting him to make a masterpiece first time in is beyond me. He's a rookie let him make his mistakes like every other artist you people STAN for. As far as pure eye candy type of visual it works...women will still love the song, and now fellas have a reason to watch it when it comes on. So shut up and enjoy...no one pays for your opinions so don't try to sell them to anyone else.

DRAKE SIGNS TO A LABEL...

That moment everyone has been waiting for...Drake signs a nice deal and now the machine can go to work for arguably the rookie with undeniably THE MOST buzz in the industry. Once again...HARD WORK pays off. Period.

MIGUEL x DRAKE - BEST I EVER HAD

Miguel EXCLUSIVE Best I Ever Had (Cover) from Miguel on Vimeo.

DRAKE - SO FAR GONE

You already know that since I'm a Drake fan this was going to go up, I've been waiting on this like a lot of other people and it's here.  There were THOUSANDS of angry fans leaving hundreds of comments on various blogs (including Drake's very own, no pun promise) trying to rush it along.  I went to sleep unlike many up in anticipation.  But from the twitter chatter...and the AIMs i've gotten people are loving it.  So if you haven't gotten up to speed...DOWNLOAD this now.  Drake is a good friend of one of my good friends so the mutual friend is trying to connect Mr. T.O. with Mr. L.A.; hopefully it goes down and u'll get even more Drake.  BTW Drake is in the city chillin...
