Definitely got a chance to hear this project at the listening session on Tuesday.  It's a good project, I've been dropping the videos and the leaks but have been staying away so that I could hear this in its entirety.  Here is the newest video, Take It Easy, War Music drops next week.

SLIM THE MOBSTER - GUNPLAY (MUSIC VIDEO)

New video from Slim the Mobster that dropped last week.  If you haven't heard from him he's one of the main acts/force on Detox as well as (you guessed it) Dr. Dre's new artist.  In an ode to Dr. Dre and NWA, Slim drops a visual for Gunplay that's reminiscent of the NWA video "Always Into Something" (classic).  Check it out.

DR. DRE f/ KENDRICK LAMAR - AT THE LAKER GAME (PHOTO)

Compton, Compton...pay attention folks.  The highlight of that game was not our Lakers but of the legend Dr. Dre with arguably the Rookie of the Year Kendrick Lamar courtside.  In a short time Kendrick has been in the studio and making public appearances with Dre.  Crazy right?  Not only that he was mentioned on NiceKicks in the caption.  Not Dr. Dre and guest, or Dr. Dre...it said Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar.  Obviously many folks know who this kid is.  Dope.  Sidenote: too bad Brandon Jennings didn't play.

DEVI DEV INTERVIEWS SLIM THE MOBSTER on WRITING KUSH, SIGNING TO AFTERMATH, ETC. (VIDEO)

My homegirl Dev sent this information over, thought you might want to hear this...especially for those waiting on Detox:

Aftermath artist Slim the Mobster called in to me while he was in the studio working on the "Official Kush Remix". We talked about him signing to the good Doctor and why he believes that although many have been signed before him, his will be the album that drops. Slim also describes the process of ghost writing records for Dre (200 of them to be exact), what "Detox" will be reflective of and why he went to prison for a year after signing to Aftermath.

KENDRICK LAMAR - LOOK OUT FOR DETOX (MUSIC DOWNLOAD) *7,050TH POST*

I never mentioned my 7,000th post but I didn't think I'd get to 7050 so quickly either...with that said I'd like to thank everyone who has supported the blog to get to the point it is now.  It basically came from nowhere and now is one of the main voices for LA hip hop.  In that sense I relate to the emergence of Kendrick Lamar...he's come from under Jay Rock and become a favorite amongst the city as many folks out here relate to his story and angle.  He has emerged as his own artist and gained his own notoriety strictly off of HIS music.  Kendrick some feel has come from nowhere and taken the world by storm by making fans of 9th Wonder, J. Cole and more.  Well his newest fan is Dr. Dre who wants to work with him, that's a good look and with that being made known Kendrick didn't rest.  He jumped in the studio and unleashed on this track.  Check it out...it's mean.
