As much as I hate WorldStarHipHop...I have lots of love for Blair Robinson.  I've known her and her family since she was like 4 years old and to see her chasing her dreams is dope.  Music is in her blood as her grandfather is the great Ray Charles.  As the hip hop scene in our city grows, the R&B scene is finally looking to push itself as well.  Check out the vid and I'll keep more of you posted as more stuff from BR drops.  Enjoy.

I drop plenty of hip hop from L.A. based artists but sometimes we don't pay enough attention to the vocalists in our city.  We all have hip hop tracks with that right amount of vocals on the hook or harmony in the song that makes us love a song.  But there isn't as much promo or love shown to some of those people that hit those notes (or might be writing for your favorite singers).  So when certain people tell me to check out some R&B I do just that.  Jazzy has worked with and for artists such as Jamie Foxx, Busta Rhymes, and Letoya Luckett as well as traveled with Melanie Fiona on the European leg of Kanye West's "Glow In the Dark" tour.  For more info on Jazzy go here.

MUSIC MONDAY: R&B EAZEE (MUSIC DOWNLOADS)

Everyone loves to do Music Mondays on Twitter, it's something between putting people up on new music, dropping new music and/or just letting the world know what you're listening to at the moment.  Well I don't need a specific day to give you new music and I rarely hit you with R&B downloads unless it's Miguel or J*DaVeY...but then again they're not really in a "just R&B" category.  So here are some projects I discovered this weekend thanks to friends and the power of twitter.

DJ Drama and DJ Sense get together with Chris Brown for this Gangsta Grillz mixtape.  There are a number of tracks on here I'm feeling and I can even tolerate some of the rapping he's doing (yes I said rapping).  The beats bang and the features are minimal yet the ones he has work.  Enjoy.

I've always been a Teedra Moses fan and she told me to download this via a Twitter conversation we had the other day and I finally got around to it this Saturday.  I must say I'm digging this project very much and can't wait to hear what she's doing for the actual album...Fisticuffs played me one of the songs and I'm anticipating when I can get my hands on my own copy.  In the mean time I'll be playing this, and you should too.

Urrsher is back (or is attempting to be back) and since he's supposed to be back on his ish...I guess this trailer would make sense then.  From what I've been hearing from folks that may be getting some credit(s) on the upcoming album, this one should win some fans back and some new ones.   Word is the leaked tracks are cool...but are definite throwaways from the album as Usher is looking to make something the fans really want from him...I can respect that.  And him working with young, new and creative talent may help him get that groove back.

Chris Brown's new album Graffiti drops next week so a few tracks have hit the internets.  One features a well known rapper from Compton on the track with Trey Songz (which is produced by Polow Da Don) and the other is produced by a west coast duo known as Tha Bizness.  For that reason these particular songs are being posted up here.  Enjoy...you can party to one and spend quality time to the other one.

So the LA front is a lil slow as some our local talent get ready to head out for the big show in SF this weekend I decided I wanted to post some non-LA music I'm feeling right now.  Fab dropped videos for his two singles.  The one at the top is for Throw It In the Bag w/ The-Dream, he has another with Jeremih that's cool but not my fav.  However the cat Jeremih has a dope R&B number with Birthday Sex (which will become the theme song as June 13th draws closer) and he just dropped a video for it.  Fab is on one of the remixes...maybe they'll do a video for that one too.  Peep em out...of course shouts to OnSmash.

THROWBACK THURZDAYS - PRIMETIME EDITION

So earlier via Twitter Thurz said sumn about a Hi-5, and because I was in throwback mode I automatically thought of these cats here (pause). If you bumped this back in my day...the ladies were automatically your best friends. I hadn't grown into my cool yet, so those kind of "helps" were good to have. So indirectly Thurz gave me this throwback...since he slacked on an R&B joint. RIP to Tony Thompson (the lead singer).

So Miguel is hitting the stage for the 2nd time in 2 weeks...this Sunday he will be at Hush Lounge in Hollywood. Looks to be a good show, 21+ though...apologies to the underage fans. I was told be B of Fisticuffs that a LIVE band will be in effect for Sunday's event. Stoked I am...now I need a date or 3. CONGRATS: DANICA THE MORNING STAR

I just found out a friend of mine, singer Danica Rozelle aka Danica the Morning Star recently won the ASCAPLUS Award.  This award is for writers in the early or mid stage of their careers.  Danica has an independent album out now (pictured above) and on top of her singing and appearing in the movie WALK HARD: THE STORY OF DEWEY COX, she also co-wrote the song HARD from the movie.  Below is her 1st video, FABULOSITY (directed by my boy Charles Davis).  She just released her new single RUSH to the radio and is already getting a good response.  Her b'day is the 26th of this month so hit up her page and leave her some love.
