On January 1, 2009, local Oakland transit police murdered Oscar Grant in cold blood. His murderer is currently on trial in Los Angeles, and the jury is currently in deliberation. We are days away from a verdict and Bambu decided to take to the intersection of Florence and Normandie in his hometown of LA to send a message of solidarity to the people of Oakland. Bambu pushes for safe and calculated mobilizing, but makes it a point to encourage the natural emotion that people may be overwhelmed with if the verdict is not a just one.
Organize. Strategize. Project.
Research and find out where you can mobilize with others in your city.

Just in time for the long weekend comes the laid back, chilled, Cali vibe of The Freshmen's "Hello There" music video, directed by Mike Ho of One Shot Media. I discovered this song last summer via the homeboy Bad Lucc, and immediately loved it. I sent it to a few of you and it got some great feedback - now the visuals are here for everyone's eyeballs. Interesting that Beans is now on a song with 50's "enemies" after playing so nicely with Curtis and saying how great he is. Now you're on a track with a dude who takes shots at your former boss (like you) and the person you wanted as your new boss, as well as a dude who's in an ongoing beef with the one you wanted as your new boss and is an understudy of your former boss. Are you guys confused by that...because I am. Beanie is searching for something...being a whore basically; but besides all that I'm sure the song could potentially be hard as hell. The three trying to lyrically top each other sounds like a good record in the making. The politics this will involve however...not so sure about.
