Nike Basketball 2013 All-Star Footwear Collection

Nike Basketball is embarking on an extraterrestrial mission for the forthcoming All-Star Game festivities in Houston. The mission control center in Texas, widely know by its radio call sign “Houston,” provides the creative inspiration for a special collection of shoes for of-this-world basketball anomaly’s LeBron James,Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. See detailed pics after the jump.

Technical aspects of the LeBron X include full-length visible Nike Zoom cushioning, dynamic Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction. The Kobe 8 System features Nike Zoom in the midsole insert, an engineered mesh upper, and tactile traction. Finally, the KD V boasts the combination of Nike Zoom on the forefoot and Nike Air cushioning at the heel, along with a Hyperfuse upper and dynamic heel support. Driven by the creative vision of Nike Basketball’s color lead Eugene Rogers and graphic extraordinaire Erick Goto, the 2013 collection specially built for Houston pushes the limits with meaningful homages to the space program – realized with fictitious elements associated with each shoe like “Black Diamonds,” “Ice Mamba” origins and “Dark Matter.” The Nike Basketball shoes specially engineered for Houston will be available starting on February 15.
