Los Angeles Laker Updates: Kobe Undergoes Season Ending Achilles Surgery

As you can see I'm not here to talk about the game last night, something more important than that win happened. What happened was my favorite player and arguably the greatest Laker may have gone down for [dare I say it] good. With little time left in a pivotal game on a routine play, Kobe turned a corner and his leg didn't, he collapsed,

It's Easter next week, and when it's Easter season Nike always delivers some spring heat. Now there are KD's, Bron's and other shoes...but I'm from Los Angeles and a Kobe fan. Thus, I only really care about the Kobe 8 "Easters". Hit the jump for the rest of the images.

Mama, there goes that man. Kobe seems to be racking up more ambassador positions as he nears the end of his career. I mean we all know about his airline ambassadorship, but now we hear about this thing with Hublot. Details below:

Hublot continues to add to its already considerable roster of brand ambassadors with the announcement of Kobe Bryant as its newest partner. To commemorate the partnership, Hublot has unveiled the Kobe Bryant x Hublot King Power Black Mamba Chronograph Watch – a luxurious, limited edition timepiece truly befitting of a man of Bryant’s caliber. Done up in all black with purple and gold accents, the watch features a HUB 4248 automatic chronograph movement inside a 48mm ceramic case with titanium and resin composites, a skeletonized dial, gold hands and indices with black Superluminova, and a black Python snakeskin strap with rubber backing. The watch will be available exclusively at select Hublot boutiques. - Hypebeast

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES: Lakers Win, Kobe Dunks on Smith & more 3/4/13

Speaking of Kobe Bryant tho...in a tightly contested and intense game yesterday evening, the Lakers managed to walk away with the W. But what is probably the most notable play of the night, Kobe in vintage form drove by Josh Smith, elevated and threw down a vicious dunk to give the Lakers some energy and momentum. In a similar fashion, Kobe drove by Horford then elevated over Smith again for what was the go ahead layup to win the game. Always a catalyst of the flair [and high blood pressure], Kobe Bryant dazzled, wowed and paced another episode of drama in the Lakers' quest to make the playoffs. Hit the jump to see that dunk.

LOS ANGELES LAKER UPDATES: Kobe Torches Mavs, Smokes A Cuban

It's been a minute since you got a sports update from me, but I'm at the Los That Sports Blog HQ so it seemed right. Earlier this morning, some of you Angelenos may have been sleep, Kobe marched into Dallas with a small chip on his shoulder. After Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban made some comments earlier in the week about the Lakers amnestying Kobe. Well Kobe decided to answer with 38pts, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. He also hit some impressive shots down the stretch. Case in point: my twitter avi. It was a tightly played game and Dirk gave some nail-biting moments but the #LAKESHOW made it out. Steve gave us a dub, and despite only 9pts, Dwight's defense helped tremendously. After the game, Kobe tweeted "Amnesty THAT". Yo Cuban, the streets is watching, and the tweets is too. Hit the jump for highlights.

NIKE ZOOM KOBE 7 "YEAR OF THE DRAGON"

I've been digging plenty of the branding for the new Kobe shoe this year...but if there is a particular style I want (read NEED) it's this here.  With it being Chinese New Year and all, I'm sure these are going to drop any day now.  The colorway, the detail, the packaging...all winners in my book. Once I get these please believe I'll be instagramming these, lol. Thoughts?  More pics inside the post.

LOS ANGELES LAKER UPDATES: BYNUM BACK

Haven't done one of these posts in some time.  Well the Lakers ended 2011 on a good note by welcoming Andrew Bynum back to the lineup after a 4 game suspension.  Bynum looked good notching 29pts and 13 rebounds.  Kobe only put up 21 but was an assist shy of a triple double.  Bynum still needs to get in game shape and the Lakers now have to readjust again a bit to get used to the spacing with Pau and Bynum both on the floor but they looked pretty good.  I wasn't sold on Mike Brown as coach but I do like the way he has the Lakers playing defense and being more active.  The Lake Show plays Denver again tonight...let's hope for another win.

KOBE AIR ZOOM 7 "DEL SOL & CONCORD"

Kobe debuted his new sneaker in a visit to the Nike Campus and I must say I'm feeling them.  I like the Del Sol versions better (the black & yellow) but the Concords are cool too.  I like Kobe's shoe but the low top has always made me hesitant but the ankle strap has me a bit more interested.  Also the sole reminds me of the Kobe 1's, that was one of my favorite shoes to hoop in.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS + CLIPPERS UPDATES...GOOD DAY L.A. (ASW EDITION)

Just in case ya'll forgot...the hometown teams made great impressions during All Star Weekend...ask Blake Griffin who dunked over a car to win the Slam Dunk Contest, and Kobe who dunked on LeBron en route to getting his 4th MVP of the All Star game...tying Bob Petite.  Both players got back to work yesterday but with different results.  Blake Griffin had a spoiled homecoming in a route against OKC.   Kobe on the other hand got his team a victory at Staples over the Hawks.
