LOS ANGELES LAKER UPDATES: BYNUM BACK

Haven't done one of these posts in some time.  Well the Lakers ended 2011 on a good note by welcoming Andrew Bynum back to the lineup after a 4 game suspension.  Bynum looked good notching 29pts and 13 rebounds.  Kobe only put up 21 but was an assist shy of a triple double.  Bynum still needs to get in game shape and the Lakers now have to readjust again a bit to get used to the spacing with Pau and Bynum both on the floor but they looked pretty good.  I wasn't sold on Mike Brown as coach but I do like the way he has the Lakers playing defense and being more active.  The Lake Show plays Denver again tonight...let's hope for another win.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES: LAKERS DODGE THE BULLS

A pretty entertaining game overall...Pau had an off night but Shannon Brown hit big baskets from long range to help the load.  Derrick Rose did major damage with 30pts and I believe 8 assists...I could be wrong but I feel like this will be the NBA Finals this year.  It would be a perfect close to Phil Jackson's career.  Gets his first coaching championship with the Bulls over the Lakers and ends it with the Lakers over the Bulls.  Hmmmmmm....

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : CHALLENGE OR HOAX...?

I forgot to post yesterday that the Lake Show took an ugly W over the T'Wolves the other night...so I'll remind you all here in this post and then also let you know that they take on the Denver Nuggets tonight.  This could be a challenge...or simply another walkthrough.  The Nuggets were one of our most feared rivals but with all the changes, injuries and uncertain future of Melo...we may not really be the main thing on the Nuggets' mind come gametime.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : SWEET REVENGE

Great defense, a triple double from Pau, an all star like performance from Lamar Odom and a few other factors allowed us to not only finally take a win over Portland, BUT in convincing fashion.  I liked it...now if they can do that again up there that would be great.  Hometown product Andre Miller did well for Portland...but it was far from enough when the score is 121-96...*Laker Shrug*

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS HANDLE THEIR BACK 2 BACKS

Matt Barnes and the Lakers' bench has been a big part of the reason we handled the back to backs so well. Actually the whole team, Kobe & Pau are looking rather efficient, Lamar Odom is in a zone and Ron Artest is making most of his open looks when we need them.  We're 5-0 by the way...keep it up Lake Show!!!

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS TAKE DOWN SUNS IN GAME 1

Well we know the odds when Phil wins Game 1 of the series...I'm with it.  Kobe hung 40 on a group effort of Richardson/Hill/Dudley, Pau kept it consistent and Lamar went HAM on the Suns having 19 pts & 19 rebounds.  NIIIICEEE.  Highlights up above obviously.

Not saying it will be a sweep...just saying we swept the Jazz and now it's time to face the Suns in the Western Conference Finals.  Let's go Lakers...this should be an interesting series, but I'm taking the Lakers.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS TAKE 2-0 LEAD IN SERIES w/ JAZZ

The games remind me of an older brother vs the younger brother.  The games are competitive, the games sometime get close...but the size of the older brother wears down on the younger one.  I think Utah could take Game 3 just off of playing well at home...but the Lakers shouldn't have too much trouble making this a shorter series.  If Ron Artest can look to make cuts to the basket instead of threes and keep knocking the balls loose that will help on the road.  Bynum, Gasol and Odom's length should keep the advantage with us.  And oh yeah, we have a guy named Kobe as well.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS RUN THROUGH THE PACERS

Another day on the road, the Lake Show came to Indiana and left with a 19pt win.  Kobe dropped 29 and thought of flirting with a triple double again and Bynum dropped 27 & 12.  Pau and Lamar also picked up double doubles.  The Lake Show dominated on all stats (points in the paint, shooting percentage, rebounds and free throws).  Highlights up top.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : KOBE "GOT OBAMA ON THE TEXT"

As part of their East Coast trip the Los Angeles Lakers visit President Barack Obama at the White House to be honored as the NBA Champs.  Very historical as the Lakers are the first NBA team to meet our first African American president.  A good look for the city, a good look for the team.  Also of note is that no matter how cocky or conceited some may say Kobe is, it's very evident he was excited and humbled at the chance to meet Barack Obama and be honored by him.  I'm trying to meet them both.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS END THE ROAD SHOW IN MOTOWN

The Lake Show ended their lil road trip with an escape from New Jersey into Detroit.  Kobe dropped 28, Pau gave us a double double, and Ron returned to the Palace to beat up some Pistons, but in a basketball way.  He beat them up on defense and came away with some steals and picked apart the Pistons' defense with his passing.  Enjoy the highlights here.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : LAKERS FOLD HORNETS

No Chris Paul to give the right excitement but it was a homecoming for PG's Darren Collison & Bobby Brown (though he never really passes when he plays against the Lake Show).  Darren Collison attempted to show out against his former UCLA teammate Jordan Farmar by dropping 20pts and Bobby Brown attempted to embarrass Jordan Farmar 1 on 1, I guess trying to prove that he is a better PG than Jordan and should've been drafted.  What the Hornets didn't have however were answers for Bynum, Kobe, Artest, Pau, and the rest of the Lakers.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : BI-COASTAL EDITION

NY Knicks come into the Staples Center off a loss...leave with another.  Everyone got in on the action and the final score is not indicative of the actual clinic that the Lakers put on the Knicks.  Nate Robinson and David Lee provided a few highlights for the NY team...but the Lakers ran simple plays in the third and played some good defense that opened up a 22pt lead.  Some laziness and bad turnovers in the fourth allowed the Knicks to get back in it...but the game was not to be lost.

KOBE BRYANT on LOS ANGELES LAKERS' MEDIA DAY

Preseason is among us and in less than a month the Lakers tip off against the other LA team and get their rings. I don't know about ya'll but I'm excited for the NBA season and I'm looking forward to a repeat by my hometeam.

LAKERS vs ROCKETS | ROUND 5

So the unthinkable (rather unforgiveable) happened on Mothers' Day...without Yao Ming, the Rockets gave the Lakers a small lashing.  Well in retaliation, the Lakers came back to the Staples Center last night and gave the Rockets a 40pt @$$ whooping...and if you don't think that was a small message/confidence killer for Game 6, you don't know basketball or Phil Jackson.  I expect another blowout in Houston (maybe not as steep).  40pts is the worst deficit Houston has ever seen, I think the worst deficit in NBA Playoffs history.  OUCH!!!

LA LAKERS - 2 DOWN, 14 MORE...

The Lakers pulled another one out just as they were supposed to be...if you know basketball you can tell they are pacing during this series.  They are playing well, but not at the highest peak yet...but they're doing their job.   But I must say Deron Williams is impressing me more and more, every quarter.

Some highlights of the Laker game and some post game commentary...why you ask, because Andrew Bynum is back...and the big 3 looked really good: Kobe with 33, Pau with 27 & 19, Drew with 16 & 7 in his first action since January. Let's go HOME TEAM!!!
