LOS ANGELES LAKERS UPDATES : WHERE KOBE HAPPENS & SUNS SET

If you caught the Lakers this weekend then you know they put out the Heat and made the Suns go away.  Kobe was Kobe against the Heat, making one amazing shot after the other...they almost lost the game but Kobe hit a bigtime leaning sideways, off one foot 3 pointer over D Wade to give them a 1 point victory.  Last night the Lakers pretty much took care of business on defense and with a balanced offensive attack beat the Suns by 20.  Peep the highlights.

LAKERS vs ROCKETS | ROUND 5

So the unthinkable (rather unforgiveable) happened on Mothers' Day...without Yao Ming, the Rockets gave the Lakers a small lashing.  Well in retaliation, the Lakers came back to the Staples Center last night and gave the Rockets a 40pt @$$ whooping...and if you don't think that was a small message/confidence killer for Game 6, you don't know basketball or Phil Jackson.  I expect another blowout in Houston (maybe not as steep).  40pts is the worst deficit Houston has ever seen, I think the worst deficit in NBA Playoffs history.  OUCH!!!

LAKERS x ROCKETS GAME 2

Things gotta lil intense last night but on the real TV needed that for one, and two the Lakers had to send the message that they won't be punked by the Rockets in this series.  I give it to the Rockets they have some scrappy players (and dirty ones like Scola) but if the Lakers are gonna stand up to that and score at will, the Rockets confidence will dwindle, TRUST ME.  Scola's been dirty since I saw him play in the international games...I'm glad Fish laid him out...and it doesn't deserve an ejection if Rondo's face slap or Brad Miller didn't.  And I don't think Ron Artest should've been called for a foul or technical...but when you run up on a player after they split you apart, you're going to catch an ejection.  And if you don't hoop...don't argue any of this with me; you're automatically wrong.  Thanks to UNDFTD for the pics.

Down by 20 points in the 3rd Quarter, Mr. MVP aka Mr. 81 led the home team to a close victory over the defending NBA Champs.  If they can keep this up...I'll be happier come my b'day.
