LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS - NEW FACES, NEW WAYS???

So with these new additions and if some of the leftovers are healthy the Clippers could cause some problems as well as make some notable noise this year, rather than the usual "damn they suck" or "they always find a way to lose" comments. I'm stoked that Blake Griffin is in LA, I'm hoping Baron has a better season, Eric Gordon & Al Thornton are good, Craig Smith is home and I'm a Sebastian Telfair fan so...I'm hoping he can make a name here in LA. And if Baron can groom him, ya'll should be scared for all back up PG's. But it's still LAKERS over here.

LAKERS - TEXAS 2 STEP

So after getting served in Portland, the Lakers were able to bounce back and beat two Texas teams in a back to back set of games.  You already know about what they did to Houston, but last night a balanced attack and swarming defense was able to contain the Spurs (even with a 2nd Half surge).  As you can see by the pics there were some unlikely heroes...the D made it hard for Duncan and San Antonio to ever regain a lead; and players like Luke Walton were able to come up with some big plays on both ends of the floor.  They play Dallas at Staples next.  Let's go squad!!!

THAT'S BETTER...DAMN LAKERS

After them upsetting me the other night, i didn't want to post anything about them yesterday...but they made up for it (somewhat) last night.  So they are at an impressive 15-2 early on...but I need them to really go in for about 5 games...then squeeze out another 5 or so.  Then I'll be feeling good again.  Anyway they need to work on that defense against these Wizards on Friday night.

Russell Westbrook goes in for his debut...

Russell Westbrook scored 18 points in his NBA Summer League debut. This is his official 1st NBA action. If this is an indication of his season...then I feel bad for doubting the UCLA product. Stay Tuned. Sidenote: Now that Seattle has moved to Oklahoma City, they have left all their colors and logo rights with Seattle...so for the Summer League the once Sonics are just Oklahoma City and rock black and white...lookin real JV!!!
Update: Russell scored 19 points in his 2nd day of action...

Kobe - Something to Know and Ponder...

Something to ponder on this weekend, especially if you're a Laker, or maybe just a basketball fan. Last night Kobe kicked off his 2nd Annual children's basketball camp at LMU. As tradition goes, there is a "celebrity" scrimmage on the first night. Well last year I watched Kobe and OJ Mayo go at it..well until Kobe showed why strength is important in the NBA game. Anyways, Trevor Ariza was there...and later in the season he's a Laker. Well guess who decided to hoop with Kobe last night...Ron Artest & Carlos Boozer. Think about that and the trade rumors surrounding Ron and Carlos...don't wanna get ya hopes up...but think about it and tell me it doesn't seem interesting.

Baron Davis: Homecoming?

So Baron opted out and has become an unrestricted Free Agent in the NBA today...and plenty rumors are swirling that he could be looking to come home, and may have a secret arrangement through an NBA friend to be considered a pickup. With Elton Brand and Corey Maggette opting out as well...the local team seems to be the Clippers because unlike the Lake Show, they would now have money under the cap to pay Baron. Stay Tuned...
