Because in Los Angeles we're always looking for new taco spot I figured I'd highlight a new spot in Santa Monica. The spot existed on La Brea but they needed to "stretch out their legs" into a more cozy area. Oh, they also have bacon guacamole, that's an interesting dip right? Pics of the new spot after the break.

EAZEE LIVING: KING RESIDENCE / JOHN FRIEDMAN ALICE KIMM ARCHITECTS
Another fly looking pad, this one is located in Santa Monica. The open space, wood themes throughout and unorthodox shapes in the structure got my attention. This is the perfect for the person who likes to host family or friend functions but with a relaxed atmosphere. I could see a good day of football with the homies or if I had kids they could chill while the wife reads the paper and I watch the sports pop off. And the open set up allows plenty of natural light in.
Situated on a gently sloping, wedge-shaped corner lot, the design rejects the standard public front yard/private backyard typology, opting instead for a structure whose living spaces and bedrooms open onto a relatively large exterior patio/garden/entryway that faces the public streets and surrounding houses. While this arrangement puts much of the family’s communal and individual life on display, this is a positive feature for the Kings. The children...(Read More at Arch Daily)

GOOD FOOD - CAFE DOMA SANTA MONICA

I'm not really a big Sushi fan but over the last year or so I've definitely learned to like a few things. Now recently Californians, especially us Angelenos have really jumped on the Sushi bandwagon so I figured it was time to feature another place that has gotten good reviews. I'll probably peep this place soon as I hear it's a good price for good food in a generally over-priced area. Cafe Doma is in Santa Monica on Colorado not far from Cloverfield. So if you're in the neighborhood check it out...if you want to call or plan something there go here and get their info. The pics look pretty good...I usually go by those, lol.

FOOD & LIQUOR - The Parlor

I've been meaning to check this spot out since this summer...I mean any venue that has a Happy Hours 7 days a week is a must see. I held off on posting about this spot mainly because I wanted to go first...but the lovely ladies of L.A. Etc posted something about it first. So check out their rundown here...and if you still need to know more before running to check it out...go to the website.Friday, August 15, 2008
Father's Office - Culver City

Father's Office which is a popular little hangout in Santa Monica opened up it's 2nd location in Culver City in the Helms Bakery complex. The place offers some tasty gourmet type of burgers, and other hearty entrees. There are plenty of various entrees but not too much to leave you reading all day. There are also an abundance of beers on tap if that's your thing, but there are some wines and limited cocktails as well. You can check the website for other details, addresses for either location and get directions as well.Tuesday, May 20, 2008
