L.A. is officially representing with this video here...and it's dope to see that Nike is the platform.  Words via Nike below:

The man's hand style is recognized around the world and is both menacing and beautiful. Bred in Los Angeles, Mister Cartoon's art work can be seen on the arms of our time's most lauded musicians. His work is steeped in the East Los Angeles Chicano culture of low riders and graffiti.

Nike Sportswear chose Mister Cartoon as the American artist for the True Colors Artist Collaboration.. In this video Cartoon breaks down the creative process behind the logos and mascot he created. Nike Sportswear will be holding events to launch the collection in New York, Boston, and Chicago next week. Come out to see the collection and Mister Cartoon in action.

THE HUNDREDS x SUPERMAX THE COLLECTION

You've seen a few sneak peeks, a couple videos giving some background...well here is the actual line.  Peep the description via The Hundreds below:

“In 1991, the Supermax boutique brought LA’s hardcore swap meet style to Melrose Ave, in the heart of Hollywood, and quickly became a hub for street/hip-hop fashion. The store’s founder, Lucky Luciano, teamed up with Mr. Cartoon and Estevan Oriol, to release an in-house clothing by the same name. The graphics were all illustrated by hand by Mr. Cartoon, based on Lucky’s lifestyle and concepts. Nearly two decades later, we dusted off the original film, added a few touches, and Supermax, a true pioneer of LA street style, is back in full effect.”

Drops at The Hundreds on Thursday (both LA & SF)

STUSSY XXX ANNIVERSARY T-SHIRT COLLECTION #1

Spotted these over at HighSnobiety as well:

Reminiscent of the World Tour project that took place for the brand’s XXV year celebration, Stussy reveals the first group of XXX anniversary tees. Collaborations with Japan’s 40% Against Rights (by Tet), Mr. Cartoon’s Last Laugh, Hawaii’s Leilow and Berlin’s Firmament are seen alongside girls tees by Hellz Bellz and Hyde SK. Certainly brings back some nostalgia from the days where streetwear felt so much more exciting. These shirts will be on sale Saturday, February 20th at Stussy Japan accounts.

G-SHOCK LIMITED RELEASES: MR. CARTOON x TODD JORDAN x REDMAN

I don't really jump on every G-Shock release but when they catch my attention with a nice colorway or a dope collabo I will post.  Well these collabs are pretty interesting if you're reading the names of the people.  Here is there description:

“To create the three new models, Casio has collaborated with a graphic artist, a photographer, and a hip-hop artist. The results are the Mr. Cartoon model (DW-6900MRC), the Todd Jordan model (DW-5600TOD), and the Redman model (AW-591RED).”

Ya'll know I like the stuff that Mr. Cartoon does so that was almost automatic.  But all three are equally interesting to me.
