SXSW: LAST SHOW w/ LAST RIGHTS (PHOTO RECAP)

Here is a photo recap of the last night of performing that went down in Austin, TX for SXSW.  It went down at the Firehouse Lounge for Day 3 of the Last Rights showcase.  The homies from all over were in effect as Esso from NY did his thing, Grip Plyaz from ATL, Sean Falyon of Philly and of course our hometown reppers El Prez who was accompanied by Chris Focus and DNEZ in TreeHouse Club fashion.  Prez also brought out a surprise guest in Shawn Chrystopher as he kept the set live with "No Snitchin".  The homie Diz Gibran capped off the night by doing noteworthy tracks from Soon You'll Understand" as well as some old Diz and unreleased music.  Special shout out to DJ Printz Paul for being the in-house DJ that night and keeping it moving as well as DJ'ing a LOT of folks sets that he had never DJ'ed for.  It was a good way to cap our stay in Austin, we met a lot of people, took plenty of photos (as these recaps are far from all of them) and lots of video footage (that we're still going through to show you the best quality).  Enjoy what we've shown you so far.  Can't wait till next year.

Nike Sportswear chose Mister Cartoon as the American artist for the True Colors Artist Collaboration.. In this video Cartoon breaks down the creative process behind the logos and mascot he created. Nike Sportswear will be holding events to launch the collection in New York, Boston, and Chicago next week. Come out to see the collection and Mister Cartoon in action.

A special bday shoutout to the artist you all know as Diz Gibran.  I've know Diz for sometime now and I can say it's an honor to know him for one and two, I'm glad he's some one I can consider a friend.  It's been a real dope thing to see his music get out and touch people over the past year or two.  I've known he was a talented dude since the day I heard his freestyle to Mobb Deep's "Getaway" track on a Bleu Collar mixtape.  It's dope to see not only does he have fans all over but to see that even his musical peers are fans. Besides his emcee skills, Diz is a good person and has respect from so many different people on the L.A. scene...music, fashion, media, etc.  If you're a fan and follow him on twitter, go here and wish him a great day...and if you're not familiar with Diz, go here and catch up.  I've heard some great music he's working on that will be released and I don't see him disappointing.  Happy Birthday Diz...enjoy your day.

JBC COOL RELIEF CONCERT - EAZEE STREET TV (VIDEO RECAP)

As you all know my family, the LAx Paperboys and the Queen of L.A.' Hip Hop: Devi Dev put together a last minute benefit concert for the people of Haiti a couple weeks back. It was a huge success with a packed house, ticket sales and sold merchandise going to raise money for Yele.org. LA acts like Nipsey Hussle, UNI, Pac Div, TiRon, Diz Gibran, Dom Kennedy, Strong Arm Steady and more rocked out. Thousands of dollars, 4 cars full of donated goods and more came from this event. A very good day for Hip Hop, especially L.A. Hip Hop. Peep the vid to get a brief idea of what went down.
