SKEME - KRAZY (APE SHIT) LIVE at SOB'S (VIDEO)

I posted a video of Skeme w/ Dom at SOB's last week.  Here is some more footage from that show which was actually the Leaders of the New Cool x Hustlepalooza: The Collab CMJ Edition show. The lovely Dominique from Hollywood East (Leaders of the New Cool) sent this over to me to share with the coast.  Skeme repped for us well as he was considered THE performance of the night.  This was one of the most talked about shows especially since it made it onto Mos Def's radar to the point where he chose to show up and make a surprise performance.

4,000TH POST: TIRON LIVE AT LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL (VIDEO)

So with my 4000th post, it's only right that I keep it LA and I keep it with something that I was actually a part of.  Well I made this video, I filmed it and had other folks covering this event for Eazee Street and on top of that TiRon is an artist whose music I really enjoy.  So with all that this post is perfect.  The coolest part about this video is I really wanted to show how TiRon interacts with the crowd during the song and between the songs.  At the end you can get a quick peek of his song "For Your Smile" off of the forthcoming project Mustard.  TiRon played me some tracks and its sounding really good.  When he drops it make sure you support it.

SKOTCH DAVIS: LIVE AT LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL (VIDEO)

Speaking of the Just Be Cool movement...here are some clips of Skotch Davis' performance at Leaders of the New Cool. Skotch was a last minute but welcome addition to the show. He ran through a quick set including his Dumb It Down aka Freestyle (aka Dumin' Out) and his popular song Paradin' which I featured in the clip. Here's footage of my boy Young De of Audio Hustlaz/Soul Assassins getting it in at the Leaders of the New Cool stop in Los Angeles that went down on January 26th 2010 at Echoplex. He chops it up with Eazee Street before and after his performance. I included a clip of one of his acapellas (bars) and a bit of his song with Xzibit. Drew of Tradition makes a cameo as well.

LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL IN-STORE at EL MERCADO (PHOTO RECAP)

So before the big show last week there was an in-store at El Mercado where fans could come meet most if not all of the artists on the Leaders of the New Cool bill.  I rolled with El Prez, Shawn Chrystopher and Chris Focus and met up with DNEZ and some of our lady friends to partake in some drinks and cupcakes.  TiRon, Mikkey Halsted, LEP Bogus Boys and Spree Wilson were in attendance.  DJ Printz Paul was on the 1's and 2's and held it down nicely.  Noa James was there to support as were some other familiar faces.  Shouts to Dominique of Hollywood East and El Mercado as well as all the artists for hanging out.

EL PREZ & THE FCC: LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL (PHOTOS)

Here are a couple pictures my lil homie Matthieux took during El Prez' set at the Leaders of the New Cool show this past Tuesday.  Due to some technical difficulties Prez wasn't able to deliver the full set for a number of his fans that showed up but those who were there enjoyed the brief yet VERY LIVE set.  Prez even brought out the band and had the crowd rocking to tracks from Animal Style that have yet to be released yet.  If you want to see more pics from El Prez' set featuring the FCC simply go here.  And expect to see more photos via Matthieux on the blog as he'll be working with Eazee Street on future projects.  To see more of his prior work check out his site here.

LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL | L.A. IN-STORE MEET & GREET at EL MERCADO

So the big show is today but before the show you can actually fall through El Mercado and meet all the acts on the bill.  Gift bags, free tickets and cupcakes from Rissa will be available.  It's going down from 4-6 so come through for a good time then get ready to see the stage get shut down multiple times tonight.

TIRON - DEVILS FREESTYLE

TiRon dropped this yesterday but I was on the move so here it is today.  He takes a different approach to rocking this Dirty Money track (Angels) and I dig it.  TiRon also played some tracks from Mustard for the crew via UStream while the FCC and I were in the studio.  It's sounding good.  Also shoutout to TiRon for going in on this hater that was feeling frisky in the chatroom while El Prez was doing his UStream broadcast.   Don't forget TiRon, El Prez & Diz Gibran will be rocking at the Echoplex on January 26th for the Leaders of the New Cool show.  Tickets are here.

ILLROOTS x LEP BOGUS BOYS: LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL (VIDEO)

Ill Roots just did a video feature of the LEP Bogus Boys that will be on the bill for that Leaders of the New School show on the 26th at Echoplex.  Tickets are selling because a number of people were approaching Prez at the Cool concert to let him know.  Cashmere Agency sent me the video clip so check it out:

IllRoots did a great 'mini documentary' about the Chicago-based rap group and their newest projects, their live performances and what it means to be a leader of the new school.  L.E.P. has been receiving a ton of buzz and collaborating with top artists, including Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Ray J, Jim Jones, Cool Kids, Yukmouth and Kanye.  They also have been featured on top hip hop sites including XXLMag, TheSource, OnSmash, Ballerstatus and Datpiff just to name a few.
