THOSE CHOSEN in URB DIGITAL EDITION's 25 NOW

My boys of Those Chosen repping the 909 are featured as part of URB's 25 Now which you can find in their digital edition that dropped.  A good look for the coast.  I put ya'll on them awhile ago but some people never listen until NahRight or my boys at 2Dopeboyz tell you about it.  Rumor has it that the cover story of this URB was written by someone right here from LA.  He's my boy and I've featured his work before but I'll let you read the cover story first and see if you recognize the name.  The issue is right here.  Those chosen featured on page 30.

JASON PARHAM x URB x ODB

My boy Jason just did an interesting piece on Ol' Dirty Bastard that every hip hop fan, or person in general should check out. He has an online column for URB now so you need to keep up with him...he's a good writer, and he reps the city all day. If you didn't know he is responsible for that VIBE look for Diz, UNI, Dom, Shawn Jackson and Fashawn with the New West feature. Jason's column is right here.

PAC DIV x VIBE MAGAZINE by JASON PARHAM

My boy Jason Parham did an article for VIBE with the Pac Div boys and has a full transcription of it over at his spot. Below is an summary:

“What it is Pac Div, what it is?” In early March I interviewed the auspicious Cali trio for Vibe’s Real Rap Issue (on newsstands now) in anticipation of their forthcoming major label release on Universal, applicably titled Grown Kid Syndrome. Below I’ve provided the full nine-page transcript of our meeting at L.A.’s Farmer’s Market on a rather frigid, and surprisingly windy, March afternoon. What you’ll read is a conflation of good times, as Pac Div speak on not being able to keep a girl because of their addiction to rap, why Ghostface is like a “good pair of drawers,” and how they have a new-found appreciation for The-Dream. They also offer a small preview of what to expect with Church League Champions, the precursor to their highly-anticipated debut. READ MORE.

VIBE.com; NEW WEST | FASHAWN

I showed ya'll yesterday that an FCC supporter Jason was doing a series called New West over at VIBE.com that featured a few L.A. artists you have all seen over here at some point. Today he drops another one, this one being Fashawn. I dropped a track awhile back he did with Thurzday and he was also featured on that remix UNI did for Beautiful Day. Check the article here...cat hails from Fresno, but he shows a lot of love to LA talent. So he's going up in the post today...WEST UP!!!

So VIBE.com has been running a small feature this week on talent out of Los Angeles. The feature is called New West and has a few familiar faces you may recognize if you've been paying attention to this blog right here. Click any of these names to the right to access their article: Diz Gibran, Shawn Jackson, UNI and Dom Kennedy. All articles by Jason Parham.
