ORISUE presents LIVE FOOTAGE PLAYS JAY DEE (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

I know there are some J Dilla fans out there, Orisue sent this over to me thought it was a interesting idea. Read the details below.

We have teamed up with Brooklyn-based duo Live Footage to release their special project “Live Footage Plays Jay Dee.” A few months ago, Live Footage headed on a full fledged Dilla celebration by locking themselves up inside The Creamery Studios. The duo explains their vision behind the project:
JDilla is a major influence for us musically and production wise. Taking some our favorite songs he produced and putting our own spin on them was quite a challenge. Here, we fused our influences that reach beyond the hip hop realm to adapt these songs to our sound. J Dilla’s constant drive to find new music and make his own sound inspired us to do the same.”
For everyone at Orisue, Dilla's music is a huge influence to us inside and outside of work that we jumped at the opportunity to present such a unique take on his music to our fans. Please click "Download" below to download this project for FREE today and treat yourself to some amazing music.

EAZEE STREET - A DAY WITH...PICASO of LANGUAGE ARTZ (PHOTO RECAP)

Here is a little photo recap of last Saturday.  Picaso and I met up to go work on a new feature coming soon and it turned into a whole day of productivity.  Started off with Asian Soul Kitchen then an impromptu photoshoot, met up with Krondon and Phil the Agony of Strong Arm Steady over at their compound.  While hanging out there I met DJ Khalil then headed to Stussy for their J Dilla event with DJ's Rhettmatic and J Rocc.  The good folks from Blvck Scvle as well as Raphael Saadiq were in the house among many fans.  We also met up with some Los Angeles based producers that you know but perhaps don't KNOW.  Keep it locked here as the video footage starts to surface...for now at least you can get an idea of what you might be seeing over the next few days, yawp.

So my FCC fam, Kev dropped this in my inbox...so if Kev sends it...it's going up. Plus I know alot of cats in LA (especially on the hip hop scene) love J Dilla...so I figured they may want to see what Dilla's younger bro has cookin...

Hip Hop Official presents Part 1 of our Illa J interview. In this first of a 2 part series, Illa J talks about his musical roots that stem from his family bloodline, including his brother, the late great J Dilla. Like his brother, Illa J is a triple threat, excelling as a talented emcee, singer, and producer. He also talks about his brand new album that dropped Nov 4th, Yancey Boys, in which he sings and spits over classic Jay Dee beats from his days on Delicious Vinyl back in 1995-1997.
