POLYESTER THE SAINT - ASK, BELIEVE, RECEIVE (MUSIC VIDEO)

Ask Believe Receive from real deal p on Vimeo.

As you all know this is my boy Polyester the Saint's single. Polyester is one 1/2 of LAUSD, the production crew responsible for Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets, but he is also 1 whole of his own artist. We dropped the audio and now here is the video. A smooth soulful track, a positive message and some dope cameos (see who you notice) make this an automatic LA type song/video. Enjoy.

They have a section about 13 must have mixtapes/independent releases and it includes Diz' (pictured above) Soon You'll Understand, TiRon's Ketchup and LAUSD's Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets. All of these projects can be found in the right hand column and you already know I keep you in the loop with all of them. So peep the write up HERE and appreciate your homegrown talent.

JANSPORT J - AMERICAN GOSPEL

Fresh off his contributions to the LAUSD Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets project (Starter Jackets & We Made It 09), Jansport J returns with his own remix CD to Jay-Z's opus: American Gangster.  Here's what he had to say about it:

I grew up in the church. Also grew up listening to Jay-Z. So this project made perfect sense to me. I've always been amazed at the untapped samples that are prevalent in gospel music! After telling friends and showing some tracks to some friends, they became curious and wanted to hear more. What started off for my ears only is now a project available for free download.

LAUSD f. BLU & MISS JACK DAVEY - iFEEL

If you haven't peeped this track you are officially an idiot...this is the OFFICIAL SINGLE for LAUSD's Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets, which drops on March 24th. The song is called iFEEL and is a smooth, seductive track...yet it keeps that west coast vibe that LAUSD's album will be. "Curly Tops..." will feature many of the rising acts from Los Angeles like J*Davey, Blu, UNI, El Prez, Diz Gibran, DNEZ, Chris Focus, C-San, 310, Casey Veggies, Polyester & L4, and more. And if you've been paying attention you know the FCC has been dropping tracks from this album for a while now. But in case you need to catch up there is a link to the sampler as well. Enjoy.

LAUSD - CATCH FADE (WORLD PREMIERE)

The lab where LAUSD cooks up the goodness has been popping the last few days after being quiet for the holidays. Talks of who's been recording for the project have been running rampant, when or is it actually going to drop, etc...well to make sure you folks are paying attention, LAUSD just dropped off this new ish to the FCC. The track title is so LA already...I'm sure ya'll know what 'Catch Fade' is and I know all the cats personally on this track, so I know they all 'throw fade' real well. You know if it's LA we gotta have some good ol' gangsta ish on it. The track features Reese One of Bleu Collar, Eastwood & Kabo. Polyester gets in on that hook, on top of co-producing with Lazy Lou. Get familiar.

WORLD PREMIERE - LAUSD presents DOM KENNEDY

So I heard this while over at Polyester's studio, that "FAMOUS" night when all the rappers were in the house, and before the "celebration" started Poly let me here this track. Well it's finished, signed sealed and delivered now. Another track from the forthcoming LAUSD presents: Curly Tops and Nautica Jackets. Trust me when this drops you're going to want to pick this up. The newest track has Dom Kennedy doing his 1, 2 over a classic groove and Poly lacing the hook. A good track to have when you're driving around with a lady friend.

Don't forget the other dope tracks off of this upcoming project:
It's Not Right and 405. I'll make sure to tell you where to cop this project when it's ready.

CHRIS FOCUS x PAC DIV x POLYESTER x L4 x DOM x JAY Z?

So last night I went to sit in on Chris Focus' session with Polyester the Saint and L4 as they vibed on material for the upcoming LAUSD presents: Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets. I've already dropped It's Not Right and 405 right here, and those tracks are definite HEAT. Well I heard some other tracks, as well as the one Chris Focus will be featured on and I must say this will be a west coast classic (think "The Chronic"). As Chris Focus was listening to his verse and some tweaks that Poly made to it...Dom Kennedy, Carter, J Skillz and Pac Division showed up and a good time ensued. I hung out with all those cats til about 4:35 AM. Here are some photos to showcase the moment and a couple random videos to wet your whistle over the weekend. Monday I'll have some more "finessed" footage, as all this here is raw (raw photos & raw footage). So stay tuned as I bring you more from that night so we can get you ready for the next track to be released off of the LAUSD project. Said track will drop right here on TUESDAY.

Big Mibbs of Pacific Division chillin' with Chris Focus as they vibe to some of Poly's beats together. That Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets is shaping up quite nicely. Above them; Like of PAC DIV zoning out to a beat.

MIBBS x CHRIS FOCUS vibing to a POLYESTER BEAT pt 1 from Eazee Media on Vimeo.
Mibbs kicking some bars he has to one of Poly's beats.

CHRIS FOCUS x Mibbs vibing to a POLYESTER beat pt. 2 from Eazee Media on Vimeo.
Chris Focus kicks a couple bars off top as he and Mibbs went back and forth for a few verses. As Chris would say: "with Mibbs it's "Deeper Than Rap" (soon you'll understand why).

Above are some shots of Mibbs giving his account of when he met Jay Z on Pac Div's trip to NY last week. He talks about their convo in regards to Jay vs Nas, and how Jay Z left the club. Stay tuned, there is video out there of Mibbs explaining this story. I should have that on Monday. Stay Tuned.

LAUSD Presents... feat. Diz Gibran, DNEZ, El Prez & More

From the forthcoming compilation: Los Angeles Unified Sound District presents Curly Tops & Nautica Jackets, is the banger "It's Not Right". The track features Diz Gibran, El Prez, DNEZ, Polyester the Saint & L4. The soulful track makes you want to zone out and roll through the Los Angeles area at this point...trust me. To stay up to date with the project go and add the myspace. And I'll have more leaks from the projects soon.
