BLEU COLLAR - VIRGO (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)
My brothers Basik and Reese One get together for old times sake to drop a new track for the masses. They're both Virgos so it's only right they celebrate on a track together. As you know, Basik has been on his Black Scale and Forecast.TV move and Reese has been making noise with Troublemaker as King Fantastic...BUT they're back together on this one and the chemistry is STILL there. Now all I need is a whole project from them.

KING FANTASTIC - FINGER SNAPS AND GUN CLAPS (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)
The good folks of King Fantastic aka Troublemaker and Killer Reese One (of Bleu Collar fame) dropped their new album today. In their words: "...because we love your guts, you get it for free." Between the lines of raw west coast gangsta rap and a sunday morning rock vibe of Venice Beach this is a dope album.

REESE 1 + TROUBLEMAKER = KING FANTASTIC: HOLLYROCK JAM SESSION
Reese 1 of Bleu Collar fame has a solo project with producer Troublemaker coming out that's already been making noise outside of the hip hop scene many of the internets audiences are not aware of. Together Reese 1 and Troublemaker make up the combo King Fantastic and are dropping a debut album called Finger Snaps and Gun Claps which they call "a concise study in Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic". The project drops in June. I already dropped the single "Lost Art of Killing" which you can find here. King Fantastic also has a done a remix to a track by The Glitch Mob (that was featured at Coachella). Check out this video as King Fantastic rocks live with the band for a small in house jam session. This video is dope.

KPL TV THE REC ROOM: INTRODUCING BEN KARTWRIGHT (VIDEO)
KPL TV REC ROOM - Introducing Ben Kartwright from KPL TV on Vimeo.
I dropped a few episodes of the "Rec Room" this year and there will be more to come this next year indeed. As a sort of year in review check out this video. Though it was just posted the other day this is actually the first video shot in the Rec Room and it spawned the idea. This video was to introduce the world to Ben Kartwright, part of the Great Wall crew (Diz Gibran, Pac Div, Bleu Collar, B. Kartwright). L.A. hip hop with plenty of bars, enjoy.

BLVCK SCVLE - FALL 2009 LOOK BOOK

Though the brand is San Francisco based I rolls with Mega and I like his line so whenever he puts out some new stuff it's getting love over here. Mega and Black Scale are also very supportive of the LA hip hop scene as they've showed love to Pac Div, Diz Gibran, Bleu Collar and more. This Look Book showcases new tees, caps, hoodie and the varsity jackets. As always you can go to the site and start ordering yours.

LEROY JENKINS SUMMER 2009 LOOKBOOK
LEROY JENKINS SUMMER 09 LOOK BOOK from Ron Upperman on Vimeo.
I'm really liking how fashion lines are doing these video look books...but besides all that, I was introduced to the guys behind Leroy Jenkins back in 2004 or 2005 through good friends Basik (of Bleu Collar) and Diz Gibran. I showed some stuff to Chris Focus and Like of Pac Div was put on to the line as well. Soon I saw a number of people rocking the gear in Los Angeles, who most likely had some kind of connection to the four people mentioned. As the demand went up Leroy Jenkins ended up going to NY to set up base where they have been a popular line on the East Coast. Either way they make cool stuff and I figured you should check it out.

SHAWN CHRYSTOPHER x UNI at THE ROXY
So yeah, I was at this show and boy was it a good time...The Roxy basically gave me discounted drinks to blog about the event and Twitter from it all night. So cheap drinks, good folks and good music automatically make for a good time. The L.A. fam was in effect with El Prez, DNEZ, Skeme, Meka, Daylan, Kev, Basicali, The4thQtr.net and many more. Not to mention the fam who performed: Diz Gibran, Bleu Collar, Shawn Chrystopher, & UNI. Drew was there as well to make sure footage was available. I'll have pictures up later after I sort through them some more.

BCTV - A HOUSE PARTY (DIZ GIBRAN x J DAVEY)
BCTV: A HOUSE PARTY ( DIZ GIBRAN AND J.DAVEY) ORGANIC +FLY from Broccolicity TV on Vimeo.
This is some video footage of Diz Gibran's bday party. In true west coast fashion he threw a house party and had J Davey and Bleu Collar rock out at DJ Kilu Grande's house. Broccoli City caught some of the fun on camera. All sorts of folks were in the house like Taz, LAUSD, Ayomari, TiRon, El Prez, Miguel, Gomez Warren and many more. Oh and it was a great night/morning.
