CASEY VEGGIES - I BE OVER SHIT (VIDEO)

OnSmash got some footage of the lil homie Casey Veggies as he swagged out the Key Club a little while back.  A day after meeting Jay-Z, previewing Watch the Throne and more Casey put a great amount of energy into his show and had the sold out venue hanging on to his every word and motion (like throwing up the Roc).  Peep the footage, and shouts to my man Dell.

HOMEGROWN RADIO w/ ICON & KENDRICK LAMAR (VIDEO)

Video streaming by Ustream

I'll let Chuck explain...

This week we kicked things off by introducing our audience to an artist by the name of Icon. The Los Angeles emcee speaks on how he got introduced to hip hop, networking within the industry as an upcoming artist, plus the plans he has for his music and overall career. We got a chance to also press play on a few records he has in the works from a project series entitled Welcome To Fresh Coast.

Later in the show we had the pleasure of going one on one with Kendrick Lamar. The Compton native goes in depth about his current project Section.80, the definition of HiiiPower, his personal relationship with Dr. Dre, plus the opportunity/responsibility he suddenly has to speak for an entire generation. Kendrick then goes through the entire Top Dawg Ent. roster, giving his personal thoughts as to what each artist/producer brings to the table. He also explains where he'd like to see himself a few years down the line and kicks a few bars for the audience.
ALSO...LAST CHANCE TO WIN A FREE PAIR OF BEATS BY DRE HEADPHONES!

Throughout the show we had music from Bad Lucc, Schoolboy Q, Russian Rullet, K Boy, Game, Problem and more!

TALIB KWELI x KENDRICK LAMAR - THIS N!GGA GOT BARS (VIDEO)

Some footage my boy Daylan Williams of Hip Hop Official shot over to me.  It's old footage he decided to bring out the vault, if any of you attended the FREE MySpace show in November 2010 you should have seen this.  If not here's your chance to change that...and read below for Daylan's description.

This was shot at the world famous Roxy in West Hollywood for the Myspace/Talib Kweli free Thanksgiving show to celebrate the (pre) release of Gutter Rainbows. The footy has been sitting on the drive so I decided to cut this performance for fun. Talib put it best when he said, "This n---a got bars right?" at the end of the piece. Hence the title.
It's always dope when new school and old school connect, not that Talib is old school, but ya know.  Enjoy

KENAN BELL - SUMMER SOLSTICE v.1 (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

I met and saw Kenan Bell perform for the first time out in Austin TX for the Respect the West installment of #VIBEHOUSESXSW.  I only caught a few minutes of his performance but a month ago he invited me out to an LA show.  He put on a hell of performance with a live band in tow.  He's put out some videos and was also featured on the soundtrack for NBA 2K10.  I'll show you guys a couple videos later this week.  For now check out his newest mixtape that he actually dropped on the first day of summer.  Unluckily I was stuck in O'Hare Airport planning to go head up with a tornado.  Anyways download it and enjoy.

THE ACADEMY f/ KURUPT, RAEKWON & KOJOE - SAMURYDAS (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

Had no idea bout this upcoming project (due 9.13.11) but some interesting details are below:

The material is 100% new, the collaborations are out of this world, and the production value makes “The Academy” the new standard in Hip-Hop excellence.  Over 55 MC’s representing the realms of “Major” and “Independent”, “New & Old School, “Legendary” and “Soon to Be” make “The Academy” release a shoe in for fans to feed their need for a superior quality product from a vast makeup of the artists they love and respect in a landscape where subpar albums and scaled back budgets have become the norm.
Executive produced by Kurupt, fans can expect “Academy” appearances from such notable talents as Raekwon, Jadakiss, Kurupt, Pete Rock, Royce Da 5’9”, Redman, Styles P, Crooked I, Sean Price, Method Man, Canibus, LA the Darkman, Keith Murray, Planet Asia, Rass Kass, K-Solo, LA The Darkman, Billy Danze (M.O.P.), Pack FM, Pete Rock, Keith Murray, Chino XL and many more all backed by the breakthrough soundscapes of Terminal 3 Productions (who previously oversaw projects from (“Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture”, “The Four Horsemen” and “The Undergods”).

SEAN ROSE + GILBERE FORTE - SMMERTME + SUNSHNE + NGHTFALL (MUSIC DOWNLOAD)

Since this was brought to my attention via C'est La Vie, i'll let them tell it:

Philadelphia rapper Gilbere Forte' and Sean Rose, who reps Las Vegas, have put together an incredible EP that captures the energy and hope that the summer season brings. Aptly named "SMMERTME + SUNSHNE + NIGHTFALL", this collaboration has already created a buzz with the track "Here We Go Again" which allows listeners to mellow out to a hook of soothing vocals while taking in the creative flows of Forte' and Rose.

Keep up with the duo here.

Not one to support a Celtic, but I've always been a Ray Allen fan.  As you know on the court his Jordan game has always been pretty damn mean...well Ray finally gets one of those released for consumers.  These are the shoes he wore when he broke that record...happened against my Lakers, but hey we won so it's all good.  Oh and the shoes will drop 7.23.2011 and not 7.16.2011...aiight I'm out.
