C'EST LA VIE & THE LIPSTICK DIARIES x WEEKEND WARRIORS x AJA (MY GIRLS)

So my best friend Aja did a makeup job for a photoshoot for an upcoming feature on some of the dope female bloggers/fashion forward "bawses" this side of the coast. The photoshoot features ladies from C'est La Vie, The Lipstick Diaries and my lady pals of Weekend Warriors. I heard it was fun (of course Aja tells me last minute I should've come by) and Preston created some ill visuals. As I twittered before I'm very protective of Aja, Desi & Bri...so don't get any ideas after looking at these pics. I don't know what to do about this new 'sexy' looks Bri & Desi been talkin' about lately, but they my people so I support. Get em girls...haha.

AJA ON VENUSZINE

One of my best pals in the world who does her thizzle on the make-up artistry circuit just got some of her work published on VenusZine...a cool little fashion website.  Congrats Aja...go here to see some other pics, and for you fashionistas you can read the article as well.  And peep Aja's new website here.

SUNDAY: THE HOUSE OF PRETTY x INDIOASIS

Onitsuka Tiger, Vitamin Water and IMEEM and a number of other pals (look on the flyer) are having a nice gathering for all the folks at Coachella and the folks who just want to be near Coachella this Saturday and Sunday.  Well Sunday my good pal Aja will have a lil shop set up doing some custom nail work on lotsa beautiful ladies.  So if you around or want to be around come out there.  Open bar, music, food and a pool...and with Coachella right across, I'm sure plenty of surprise guests.

CHRIS FOCUS - EARLY BDAY CELEBRATION...

Word on the streets is Chris Focus will be celebrating his b'day a week early, and he's having it at the private entry, Sunday Night Hotspot (otherwise known as) Entree at OperaCrimson. Special invited guests include UNI, Pacific Division, Convinced, El Prez, the LAx Paperboys and more. And since it's also the last Sunday Night of 2008...it should pop off very nicely. If you don't have a way in...we may have some video footage for you next week...HOLLA!!! Chris will be celebrating his bday with Aja of "the House of Pretty" and Oh Soo Vain as well. Shouts to Premier Ent., MADE Ent. & Elevated LA!!!

AJA (THE HOUSE OF PRETTY) x ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT

So Aja worked with a photographer named Sid, they did a photo shoot for this model Charlotte Tam who is a model for Elite Model Management, and because the make-up and photos were on point; their work is up on the site. Aja's been on her hustle these past couple weeks...and since she's fam she gets the post.

GOOD FOOD - PINK TACO

U'd swear Aja was paying me for all this pub today...anyways over the weekend me and Aj hit up Pink Taco for the first time over in Century City's shopping mall. I didn't know what to expect from the place seeing that the name is PINK TACO (think about that for a sec, lol). I expected Mexican food of course...but with a name like Pink Taco, I knew it wasn't going to be your normal mexican eatery. The menu has many of the traditional entrees but with slight twists here and there. The bar features many tequilas, and they have some good margaritas for like $6.50. The salsas were good...and if you like a kick, request the Diabla Salsa. Since it's named after a taco we decided to order those for our first time. I was satisfied with my carne asada and I dipped in Aja's shrimp taco to get some variety. I'd go back...may even go this weekend on a date, haha. The ambience of the place is cool too...it's like a traditional mexican eatery meets a a rock band theme (think El Cholo meets Ed Hardy). For more details peep the site. Speaking of my twin Aja...I forgot to post these a while back...but my girl got her first editorial make-up job printed. Her work was featured in Prestige magazine and in regards to this blog...not only am I featuring an LA resident gettin' it in on a global scale...but the pics are on that L.A. theme. You gotta love it...you can peep more of Aja's (the House of Pretty) work at www.dripbook.com/ajaeskandar. Some more of her work will be printed in the upcoming Dec/Jan issue of Prestige as well. Kidz in the Hall f. Estelle - Love Hangover (VIDEO)

Okay so my connect didn't come thru with the video last week as I'd hoped...but I spotted this on MySpace earlier today and I'm just getting around to posting it...obviously Eskay, Shake & Meka have beaten me to it...but oh well. I'm posting it because I told you my girl Aja (ohsoovain.blogspot.com) of The House of Pretty did the make-up for yet another Ethan Lader directed video. If you pay close attention you'll see some of LA's own. Namely El Prez, DNEZ & Polyester the Saint. Pay closer attention and u'll notice my ex girlfriend has a major role in this video (I snatched her from Jimmy Cozier awhile back) and DNEZ & Aja have a couple make out scenes. AJ...u were supposed to be on set doing make-UP, when did make-OUT become one of your job skills, lol. Enjoy people.

Kidz in the Hall - EAZEE STREET EXCLUSIVE

So look what I get sent to my inbox c/o of Ms. Aja aka Ms. OhSooVain herself. Here are a couple pics from the Kidz in the Hall video shoot. Kidz in the Hall were out here in L.A. the weekend of Rock the Bells to shoot a video for Love Hangover with Estelle (American Boy). The video was directed by Ethan Lader, who did their last video (Driving Down the Block). Aja was gettin' busy on the make-up and word is her and DNEZ have a scene in this video. Looked like a good time...I was that close to being in it...but some last minute mishap on my end kept me in the house that day.

Insa - Dirty Cash

Sticking with my provocative image kick...i'm posting up some more of Insa's work. This was part of her Dirty Cash show. Aj has a few more pics up at her spot so check it out. I really dig Insa's style...yeah it can be seen as raunchy, objective, provocative, etc...but it makes you pay attention, it makes you think and makes you discuss. That's what art is supposed to do last I checked. But besides all that Insa's style, color & composition are just as pleasurable as looking at TnA (if that's your thing).

INSA x ROGUE STATUS

Insa is the hot artist known for some of those famous paintings centered around women's breasts...but trust me this artist is awesome all the way around and always has some eye catching imagery to look at or buy. Spotted this over at Aja spot...she's trynna get me to cop her a painting as an early bday gift. We'll see homie, we'll see. This is a good alternative spot to be on a Saturday evening. Holla

WILD: Thursday Night @ Cinespace

Thursday Night at Cinespace come through and check out Wild. Aja of The House of Pretty will be on deck doing some cosmetic artistry aka exotic nail designs. This is that glamourous, 1980's type fab work...not predesigned animal decals with earrings on 'em that you get at the local nail salon. Fellas don't worry, Aja will be surrounded by a lot of hot women so you should come through too. 2 for 1 bottle specials on Grey Goose and $3 Bud Light should get you right.
