FOCUS'd FRIDAYS pt. 2

So Chris Focus just shot me another track for ya'll to play during this FCC weekend, yeah I said IT!!! The track is called Impression and he's been sitting on this beat for a while figuring out what project to work it in with. If you listen you'll notice that the beat uses the same sample as Stakes is High. After his boys UNI redid Stakes Is High, Chris decided to just drop a lil freestyle over it rather than work it as a track. So he drops it for the masses. Enjoy. Today is Chris Focus' actual bday, but as you know he had a large Bday Bash about a week ago. So here are just a small fraction of the pictures circulating from that party aka Capricornication. December 28th in Hollywood at Crimson...it went DOWN. Chris Focus brought out a large gathering of L.A. flair and partied with many of L.A.'s notables on the hip hop scene: Pacific Division, UNI, Diz Gibran, Basik of Bleu Collar, DNEZ and Convinced to name a few. Aja of Oh Soo Vain/the House of Pretty, brought out an abundance of hot ladies she's worked on or with in the fashion industry as well as her hot friends. Other notables in the house were FlipSide Enterprises, Blue Games INC, Weekend Warriors , L.A. Bella, and more. Take a look and see what you missed and just know next time Chris Focus or Aja has a hand in an event, find the right people to get you in the door. Bottles of vodka, beautiful people and an damn good time are expected. DJ Sean G also World Premiered Chris Focus new song "Bop Like This" (prod. by J Skillz) at the party and the crowd was rockin' with it. Chris planned on dropping it today as his bday gift to ya'll but a problem with the engineer has delayed that idea. For now you can peep the track Floss Angeles that Chris Focus is featured on with some other FCC favorites. Meka leaked the unmastered version on Saturday accidentally, but it seems to have been the talk of LA over the weekend. Chris is hoping to give you something new by the end of this week. So for now enjoy this. And since his bday is today, hit up his myspace and show him some love.

LOCAL SPOTLIGHT : OBAMA FOAM FINGERS

I told you that I had family members who founded this movement so it's only right that I make them the Local Spotlight, especially with all the political climate increases with these debates. So let's give my folks some shine...

So the founders of the Obama Foam Fingers are Ajay Relan & Tenoa Stevenson of Los Angeles. Already engaged in the campaign through registration drives, phone banking and the like, the 2 felt they needed to make their own unique push. It came to them while watching a Laker game and saying how every kid loves foam fingers...then during a commercial break...an Obama commercial dropped. The vision hit them both, they looked at each other and already understood their call. They debuted them at the DNC in Denver and they sold out quickly. They have now concentrated on making them for orgs and thus scored the largest labor union (1.9 million members). They are now pushing to have them sold at Howard University's homecoming and other vendors of the campaign trail...and if Barack claims the presidency they know their will be even more opportunities. POST 500 - INTRODUCING CHRIS FOCUS, A WORLD PREMIERE

I know I've kept ya'll waiting all day, but between my other duties and getting ready for this Vegas trip, and Blogger acting an ass at the slated time of delivery, there have been some setbacks.  Without further adieu though here it is:

So with the 500th post (how I posted this much stuff so fast ionno) I present to you something new and exclusive.  By way of FlipSide Music Group & Eazee Street Media, my blog will have the first "Resident Artist".  Everything done by this artist in particular as far as viral and web marketing will be done through Eazee Street first.  All videos, mixtapes, albums, events and merchandise will be dropped off to Eazee Street and then filtered into the streets.  Hailing from Leimert Park is Chris Focus...he's spit side by side with UNI, Mibbs of Pac Div, Diz Gibran, Melo KAN and other local talents.  Finishing school and getting the business end of his act down is why he is just ready to surface now.  Below is his new street single, California Soul from the forthcoming street album tentatively titled "What's Left?"  With production by Baby Boy (produced "How We Do It" by Lloyd f. Ludacris).  I was with Chris as he was working on this track and though he says he still has some things to tweak, I told him I had to have it.  So we agreed to drop it and see the reaction.  He's a beast so listen carefully, you might miss something...he's a beast.

So there's two hotspots to be 2nite: Mood & Element. My boys at Premier Ent. will be having a Grand Opening for their new Friday night weekly at MOOD. And when they have Grand Openings they are quite the occasion. Anyone can show up...down the street my folks at Elevated La & FlipSide Enterprises will be hosting a video premiere party for Common f.
