You probably saw this already...but I'm posting it as proof that even if events are months old, if the footage is well done and hasn't really been seen the content is still of interest to fans. This show happened in March, the fact people are talking about it in July...yeah exactly.
Speaking of young Veggies, he dropped this video with Rockie Fresh (who I just heard of recently). The song goes hard and the video is nice and clean. Check this out ASAP, as in NOW!!!
OnSmash got some footage of the lil homie Casey Veggies as he swagged out the Key Club a little while back. A day after meeting Jay-Z, previewing Watch the Throne and more Casey put a great amount of energy into his show and had the sold out venue hanging on to his every word and motion (like throwing up the Roc). Peep the footage, and shouts to my man Dell.
If you haven't already make sure to pick up that Follow Me Home album from Jay Rock off of iTunes. For now watch this video.

I'll let Chuck explain...
This week we kicked things off by introducing our audience to an artist by the name of Icon. The Los Angeles emcee speaks on how he got introduced to hip hop, networking within the industry as an upcoming artist, plus the plans he has for his music and overall career. We got a chance to also press play on a few records he has in the works from a project series entitled Welcome To Fresh Coast.
Later in the show we had the pleasure of going one on one with Kendrick Lamar. The Compton native goes in depth about his current project Section.80, the definition of HiiiPower, his personal relationship with Dr. Dre, plus the opportunity/responsibility he suddenly has to speak for an entire generation. Kendrick then goes through the entire Top Dawg Ent. roster, giving his personal thoughts as to what each artist/producer brings to the table. He also explains where he'd like to see himself a few years down the line and kicks a few bars for the audience.
ALSO...LAST CHANCE TO WIN A FREE PAIR OF BEATS BY DRE HEADPHONES!
Throughout the show we had music from Bad Lucc, Schoolboy Q, Russian Rullet, K Boy, Game, Problem and more!
El Prez is back with another track for the masses after dropping "Steady Mobbin'" last week, which I have to get to ya'll soon, he follows up with this. Produced by HellaGood (Polyester & Chuck Soman) this should set that weekend playlist up right. LEADERSH!T on the way

Some footage my boy Daylan Williams of Hip Hop Official shot over to me. It's old footage he decided to bring out the vault, if any of you attended the FREE MySpace show in November 2010 you should have seen this. If not here's your chance to change that...and read below for Daylan's description.
This was shot at the world famous Roxy in West Hollywood for the Myspace/Talib Kweli free Thanksgiving show to celebrate the (pre) release of Gutter Rainbows. The footy has been sitting on the drive so I decided to cut this performance for fun. Talib put it best when he said, "This n---a got bars right?" at the end of the piece. Hence the title.
It's always dope when new school and old school connect, not that Talib is old school, but ya know. Enjoy.
It's always dope when new school and old school connect, not that Talib is old school, but ya know. Enjoy.
Ends in a week...so get on it now before there is nothing left. Head over here to get yours.

...now part of that onslaught on Marvin's Room included Teyana Taylor who actually made a good amount of noise with her version. So to keep her momentum going she even filmed a video for her version. It's a pretty good visual as far as capturing the emotion of the song and it also features a cameo from the homie Omarion. Check it out.
So Drake put this song out and it started an onslaught of artists crowding Marvin's room...well it's only right the pioneer of this movement puts out a video for it to one up the "competition"...
MTV gets to know Kendrick a bit better over some tacos in NYC. Peep it out.
I met and saw Kenan Bell perform for the first time out in Austin TX for the Respect the West installment of #VIBEHOUSESXSW. I only caught a few minutes of his performance but a month ago he invited me out to an LA show. He put on a hell of performance with a live band in tow. He's put out some videos and was also featured on the soundtrack for NBA 2K10. I'll show you guys a couple videos later this week. For now check out his newest mixtape that he actually dropped on the first day of summer. Unluckily I was stuck in O'Hare Airport planning to go head up with a tornado. Anyways download it and enjoy.

A free flowing verse that Keon laid down as he prepares for the writing process of his upcoming project Be Still. Produced by Jansport J, enjoy.
Had no idea bout this upcoming project (due 9.13.11) but some interesting details are below:
The material is 100% new, the collaborations are out of this world, and the production value makes “The Academy” the new standard in Hip-Hop excellence. Over 55 MC’s representing the realms of “Major” and “Independent”, “New & Old School, “Legendary” and “Soon to Be” make “The Academy” release a shoe in for fans to feed their need for a superior quality product from a vast makeup of the artists they love and respect in a landscape where subpar albums and scaled back budgets have become the norm.
Executive produced by Kurupt, fans can expect “Academy” appearances from such notable talents as Raekwon, Jadakiss, Kurupt, Pete Rock, Royce Da 5’9”, Redman, Styles P, Crooked I, Sean Price, Method Man, Canibus, LA the Darkman, Keith Murray, Planet Asia, Rass Kass, K-Solo, LA The Darkman, Billy Danze (M.O.P.), Pack FM, Pete Rock, Keith Murray, Chino XL and many more all backed by the breakthrough soundscapes of Terminal 3 Productions (who previously oversaw projects from (“Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture”, “The Four Horsemen” and “The Undergods”).

Wasn't a big fan of the track...but it's good to see that the video finally got released.
Not one to support a Celtic, but I've always been a Ray Allen fan. As you know on the court his Jordan game has always been pretty damn mean...well Ray finally gets one of those released for consumers. These are the shoes he wore when he broke that record...happened against my Lakers, but hey we won so it's all good. Oh and the shoes will drop 7.23.2011 and not 7.16.2011...aiight I'm out.
Melo KAN drops a visual for a track off of his project The Unkomfortable Silence. With a vibe and ode to the old school just in time for the summer. Don't forget if you're in Long Beach that Melo is performing out there tonight. Keep up with Melo at his website that received a small makeover.

G. Malone takes a classic beat and gets introspective on it. Peep it out.
J. Cole shares life on the road, in the first episode we see some highlights from his time in Toronto. Enjoy and don't forget his debut album will hit in September. Be ready.
I always try to root for Cory Gunz, lyrically he's a monster and is 8,000 times better than his pops. So with that said I checked out his video and liked it...so I figured I'd post it up.
A video for Curtiss King's new single. The track was produced by Jynxx and this shit goes. Check it out and enjoy.
Lupe films this one right here in Los Angeles, some may not like this "pop" sound for Lupe, or even the fact he has Trey Songz on a hook...but as a Lupe fan I really don't mind this song. So therefore I'm posting the video...deal with it.

Mann's back with another video with a heavyweight. First it was with 50 to a familiar track and now we have him with Snoop with another familiar sample/song. Enjoy the young man is making tracks that everyone loves.
Frank Ocean's popular track got a visual while I was on vacation but that doesn't mean I can't share it weeks later. It's a dope video and the song stays in rotation. Enjoy.
More visuals from G. Malone...don't forget Beach Cruiser dropping next month.
Snoop Dogg shows how to enjoy life with the Blast by Colt 45. Enjoy.
Because this has become my personal favorite song right now...
An unreleased gem from my broham Thurz, you may recognize the track you might not...but either way he's giving it to the masses. Produced by Sounwave...enjoy.
Ethan Lader directed this...if it weren't for that this video wouldn't have made it onto the blog. But I must shout out Ethan Lader for putting out such impressive visuals as well as always keeping me in the loop of his work, no matter how big or small the artist. Salute you fam.
I'm going to let The Cafeteria Line explain the back story for this:
