LOCAL SPOTLIGHT - ADAM BACH of THE ORIGINATORS CLOTHING & SKATE BRAND

It's been a long time coming but I'm bringing back the Local Spotlight. For those of you new to Eazee Street the Local Spotlight is a feature where we highlight some of the people behind the scenes. I constantly post new music, fashion, etc...so you guys see the videos, hear the music see the artists see the clothes, shoes etc. What usually goes unnoticed is the people behind the videos, the clothes, the music (production end), and so on. With that said let's get to this feature on Adam Bach (pictured up top).

Adam Bach is the CEO/Founder of The Originators Clothing & Skate Brand. If you want to talk about Hip Hop Streetwear, The Originators are the original. The brand itself is all about educating the consumer on the early stages/years of Hip Hop. The early years were about the elements of the culture: DJ's, MC's, graffiti and break dancers aka B-Boys. Adam graduated from NYU with an English Literature degree and then received a Masters in film directing from American Film Institute. He used his filmmaking to illustrate his passion to tell the stories of the people who helped build Hip Hop.

But from there he decided to go a different route and tell these stories through tshirts/clothing. Adam would place the person's biography on the hang tags of shirts to educate the consumer on who they were wearing. From there Adam said "That's when I got the idea for The Originators". He says that every artist involved has a per-unit licensing deal so the artist and line makes money together and succeeds together. A great foundation for business is to work together and as you can tell Adam does a good job of that. Adam maintains that he wants the brand to grow organically as early hip hop did and I respect that. The brand has honored Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, Grand Master Caz and many more; and has also stepped into honoring sports greats like Chick Hearn, Roberto Clemente, the Lakers, Yankees, Gandhi and more.

They have opened up their 1st flagship store in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles called The Originators Store LA which sells Originators' clothes, skateboards and more. So support a Los Angeles product and go to the store at 142 N. Hayworth Ave., Los Angeles CA 90048 and/or cop some products online at www.theoriginators.com. There are lots of cool things with sports themes for our local teams, hip hop icons and more.
