GOOD FOOD: GYENARI in CULVER CITY

So just like Long Beach is constantly developing just outside of Los Angeles, Culver City is doing the same thing within Los Angeles. I know I've told you about RUSH Street, well next door to it is Gyenari...a Korean BBQ place. I stopped by today and got the lunch special BBQ platter. You get to pick 3 of 5 meats for your platter. Now here is the fun part...in the middle of your table is a grill...the waiter/waitress turns on the flame, brings out the meat selections and toppings (onions, kimchee, etc) and you get to grill your own food the way you want it. I had the spicy chicken, a spicy pork and beef. You also get salad choices, soup and rice to eat along with it. The menu has alot more entrees..but I figured if this was my first time eating here, I should try the main feature, the BBQ. Other offerings can be viewed here. The restaurant has plenty of seating, a nice bar and sexy lounge area, happy hour everyday, wood paneled ceilings, a nice bridge over water from the lounge/lobby to the dining areas. Located at 9540 Washington Blvd, Culver City CA 90232. GO!!!

PS: Great place to go for drinks (even dinner) before a movie outing at the Pacific Theaters on Washington. Just saying.

NEW VENUES - BIGFOOT WEST in CULVER CITY

Culver City debuted another restaurant last week...this one being an offshoot of the Bigfoot Lodge in Atwater Village. As you can see there is a definite woods theme going on, from the shotguns, trophies, stuffed animals, totem poles and more. There are special whiskeys and bourbons (including a rare one that is from 1 of 24 bottles in the world) that can be sampled. Peep the website to see more info about this place.

EAZEE LIVING - ROYAL/T x wHY ARCHITECTURE

So besides Downtown LA, another area to start paying attention to out here is Culver City. The pictures above are taken by wHY Architecture of their space design of Royal/T. Royal/T is fusion of art gallery, cafe and even retail. I thought this was an interesting mix and could provide a lively and stimulating alternative to Starbucks. Peep ArchDaily for the complete breakdown.

EAZEE LIVING - Sumwhere in Culver City

I don't think it's available to purchase, but if anyone knows the owner let me know so I can inquire about it.  I'm featuring this house just because it's in Culver City...looks clean to me...I'd live here.  And I'm telling you now...it would go down.  I do now that the house was designed by the DLF Studio.  It was started in 2005 and finished in 2006.  For more details go to ArchDaily.com

Father's Office - Culver City

Father's Office which is a popular little hangout in Santa Monica opened up it's 2nd location in Culver City in the Helms Bakery complex. The place offers some tasty gourmet type of burgers, and other hearty entrees. There are plenty of various entrees but not too much to leave you reading all day. There are also an abundance of beers on tap if that's your thing, but there are some wines and limited cocktails as well. You can check the website for other details, addresses for either location and get directions as well.
