EAZEE LIVING: GRAFTON ON SUNSET

So somehow I came across a card for this place and decided to check it out on the web.  Found some dope pics and I must say it's a pretty nice spot that I've been sleeping on.  Yes I live in LA but sometimes taking a "fake" vacation at a swanky hotel in your own city can be a good idea.  Or if you frequent Hollywood like me this can keep you from having to travel too far while intoxicated.  Nice modern rooms and suites; some that open right up to the pool area as well as a lounge and trendy restaurant that serves a great lobster and steak entree.  If you want to find out more hit up the website.

BLACK DYNAMITE (THE MOVIE)

So i went to the red carpet premiere on Tuesday and I must say I was entertained by the movie.  It stars Michael Jai White who also wrote the screenplay so you should support based off of that.  It is an ode/spoof of the old blaxploitation films as you will see by some of the events that take place in the film as well as the storylines, etc.  Friday I know we'll all be at the Shawn Chrys, Big Sean & Mike Posner show but that leaves Saturday and Sunday to go catch it with some friends or a date.  Trailer right above for a good laugh...hits theaters tomorrow.  Enjoy.

EAZEE LIVING: THE HOLLYWOOD / KANNER ARCHITECTS

As Hollywood as people say I am...I feel this might be the perfect location and place to live. Nice space, large windows to view the Hollywood nightlife or the Hollywood Hills...a modern theme which is enough for me and I'm sure you saw that pool. I could not leave the house unless I wanted to go hit a club for an hour and bring the party back to my place. Or just invite the homies over and chill by the pool. Kanner Architects is responsible for this and there is more info on the residences here.

NEW VENUES: MADAME ROYALE

A bit of the Moulin Rouge, roaring '20's theme...but I guess with our next Great Depression on the horizon it makes sense that more places are going with this theme.  It opened up last week and a friend went to check it out for me.  She said it was fun, small but sexy.  So if you're looking for something cozy and dim in Hollywood check this spot out.  6423 Yucca St.  Pics c/o Eater LA.

NEW VENUES: PLAYHOUSE HOLLYWOOD

So another new night spot in Hollywood...but this place is supposed to hold 1,000+ people and feel like a South Beach spot in the middle of Hollywood.  The spot will have lighting features like popular Vegas spots and a 24 hour diner on site that you can access before, during and after the club.  The same designers behind STK & Villa in Manhattan are on board.  The spot opens tonight.  I'm sure it will be a hassle to get in seeing you need to be a member to see the photos on the website...interesting.  Well don't say I didn't put you onto this first, thanks.  6506 Hollywood Blvd.

NEW VENUES - THE COFFEE BAR at H. WOOD

Hollywood hotspot H. Wood opens up an extension called The Coffee Bar which offers some of the same type of nightlife action but during the day.  Featuring things like brunches, alcohol tainted coffees desserts and more.  There is an indoor-outdoor setup with a bar, couches and other sitting arrangements.  Lunch meetings during the week aren't a bad idea either.  Contact them by going here.

THE DO-OVER - LA EVENTS

If you didn't know, during the summer in a backyard atmosphere there is a cool eclectic gathering on Sundays.  Like a club in the middle of the afternoon...it's another type of place where you need to have a plug but once in I hear it's like an escape from everything.  My bodyguard Dominique handles who gets in and I have yet to go...that will change this summer.  Many special guests come through often and the Sangria is the one thing that everyone mentions...even people who've never been seem to hear stories of people enjoying their time there with Sangria and good friends.  Here is an article about the event, and here is where to get more info about it.

A very interesting home located in the Hollywood Hills...another open space type of residence and ya'll know how I feel about that there.  Created by XTEN Architecture in 2007 I thought it was cool enough design wise to post.  To get more info on why it was created the way it was and how it plays into it's garden terrace on the hills and the open views check out Arch Daily.

GOOD FOOD: HAPPY HOURS ON TAX DAY - LA STYLE

Seeing that plenty of last minute stress may be going down tomorrow for all this taxes BS, yeah I'm still dealing with mine RIGHT NOW, I'm sure everyone wants to get out and drink the pain away and even write it off for next year.  Well there are a few spots that know how you feel.  Kitchen 24 has a bar open from 6AM-2AM all the time...but they're having their Happy Hour for that entire time.  I hear there is a certain person I know that is a co-owner of this place but I'm not going to put his name out there.  But make sure to go eat there when you're out in these Hollywood streets.  Good rendevouz spot.  Below are some other spots with all day Happy Hours going on.  I'll put info on one of them up tomorrow.  These other spots are offering free entrees, cheap drinks, all day happy hours, etc...ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

CRIPS & BLOODS - MADE IN AMERICA by STACY PERALTA

Like i said, I cover all aspects of the city. Shoes, clubs, fast cars, fashion and music are a big part of our lifestyle and contribution to the world, but we are also a major influence in the gang culture. It may not be the best lifestyle, but it is something we heavily contributed to mainstream culture as it has influenced music, fashion and slang across the nation and even the world. So I was surfing HypeBeast the other day and saw some of those images and realized, damn I grew up over there, so of course I took interest in finding out more:
Stacy Peralta known for his involvement in the skate culture and directorial involvement for Dogtown & Z-Boys delves into Los Angeles gang culture to document it. Baron Davis (of the Clippers) and Steve Luczo handle production while Forest Whitaker takes the narrative duties to bring you a gritty look into lifestyle and its impact. Showing between February 6-12 at the Laemmle's Sunset 5 in Hollywood and a couple dates in NY this is worth going to check out. For more info go to www.MadeInAmericaTheMovie.com
