Bishop sending some shots at west coast counterparts...u'll have to listen to see who? Or at least listen to try and figure out who. Spotted at the Shake & Meka's crib...so I'll just give you their download link...on account of my recovery and borderline laziness. Enjoy.
Trick or Treat, as promised, at 10:31AM on 10.31.2008 DNEZ offers a new audio treat for your Halloween weekend and beyond. The Features, a 9 track collection of some of the joints DNEZ has ripped thru in a short time. Includes the new party anthem Shag (with that undeniable Pharcyde sample) and the underground classic: It Is What It Is with El Prez. Inglewood stand up. EAZEE STREET serving it up first. ENJOY!!!
If you know about Tokio on Cahuenga u know it was a cool low key spot to hang and have as an alternative space to the picky, so called elite Hollywood scene. Well now the place has been revamped and renamed. Tokio is now ECCO, the 1st nightclub to GO GREEN (I mean valet is FREE if you drive a hybrid). Word is everything in the place is recycled, salvaged, organic, energy efficient, etc. They have organic food to dine with and organic gins as well as a signature drink: Absinthe-Minded (which is organic yet still may cause hallucinations). ECCO has several huge sponsors including: Heineken (Dom let's go), FIJI water (Randi), 944, Monster Energy, 360 Vodka, just to name a few. The soft opening was last night...couldn't make it I was too busy tearing down a private party for Microsoft with Convinced (photos coming soon)...the official opening won't happen until sometime in November. So if you want a private party, go for it...if not just wait.
Crooks & Castles gives you a look at their pieces for the Holiday 2008 Season. You can go to their site to peep more pics. It's done like a storyboard which was pretty cool, and it's pretty dramatic yet emphasizes the clothes still. I already saw some things I like...trust. But u knew that already.
This house caught my eye because it looked like a video game character's face...so then i check it out over at ArchDaily and I was like this spot is fly. And I had to put it up for the simple fact that it's a fly home in the city...Pacific Palisades to be exact. It's got views of pretty much any area of LA. Now what would it take to buy this place...hmmmmmmmmm. Designed by Johnston Marklee & Associates and completed in October of 2004. You gotta love it...
Now the message is important, and JT is in it so that validates an Eazee Street post in my book. But what got my attention is the young lady in the still shot...I KNOW HER. So I figured that was a good reason to peep this out. SO should you.
I didn't pay attention to much of it except for the part about a group project with Bishop Lamont & Crooked I...that could be dope (like a new Westside Connection).
I think this is the 4th year that they're doing this event...and it's always fun. So if you gotta plug, I'd be there. If i can find some old photos...I'll post em up later. This is brought to u by my folks at Premier, Elevated LA, MADE & JL (basically the folks who bring u Opera|Crimson every Sunday). I'll be there.
In Downtown L.A. on 138 N. Beaudry Avenue is CANVAS L.A., and when I came across the website and saw the photos I thought this was pretty cool place to live. The modern look is real fly and the color schemes (for the complex and units, not the website) are easy on the eyes. The building even has a social lounge: Lounge 138, which is an outdoor/indoor place. There is a resident's club with billiards, gourmet kitchen, 2 sided fireplace and multiple plasma TV's. Screening room with 100" screen and 7.1 surround sound. Spa, cable, Rooftop Cloud Room, stainless steel appliances, and more...just go to the site for more details. I think I want to move here soon....
OKAY NOT QUITE...but for the fact that I love Lupe Fiasco and his music and he's going in over a West Coast classic...I'm posting this vid...PERIOD!!! Spotted at Eskay's
Now Lil Wayne isn't LA at all except for his love of the Blood Gang Culture and his alliances with Game, Mack 10, G. Malone & Jay Rock...but when FCC connect Kev sends me stuff...I feel obliged to post it. So peep, and get a lil mental getaway to New Orleans. Plus I know some of ya'll got fam from Louisiana...I know I do.
So here it is, signed sealed and delivered...REFRESHING, the album. Done for the people and given to the people...NO CHARGE. This is what Convinced has been preparing ya'll for. So enjoy...and read the message on the back cover (HINT: just click on the pic). Shouts to E Dub for puttin' me on.
E Dub caught this exclusive footage last weekend while I was trapped in Vegas...sorry I missed the shoot. So to make me feel like I was missed...he shot me this footage. AHHHHHH, that FCC connect. Pt. 1 finds Tunji MORE than gettin' it in. And in pt. 2, El Prez, Convinced & Grizz (of the Bunch Wreck Crew) follow up and get theirs off as well. West Coast being repped well. Enjoy.
West Coast legend DJ Quik talks about working with another legend 2Pac, as well as another great emcee: Talib Kweli. Part 2 of the Loud Favorites with Mr. Quik.
Miguel gives a shout to all the supporters who came out to Hush this past Sunday. I heard the show was dope...I was supposed to be there, but when u go on a road trip and it's not your car...getting back when you want isn't always an option. Oh well, the rumor is that Migs will be having these shows at least once a month...so you know I'll keep you updated right here. Until then, I'm bumping that Mischief Mixtape.
Part of the FCC, the homie Ges of KNOWxONE laced me with the new mixtape. Peep below to get the rundown on this quality work:
It's finally here! After many months of preparation and collecting various tracks, tweaking the mix, switching up the tracklist and getting drops - it's all finally come together. The first ever, official KNOWxONE mixtape. I got together with my boys from Nocturnal Sound Krew whom have 2 back to back ITF World Championships under their belt because we did not want to put out a half-assed product. With all the mixtapes that are coming out everyday which are more or less on the mediocre side of things, we wanted to bring you back to the essence of the DJ - keeping it 100% Hip-Hop. We didn't go too overboard with the cuts & scratches, but it's subtly there. It's the little, smaller details that we hope you will notice & appreciate. Clocking in at just under 50 minutes, this mix takes you on a journey through some of the dopest songs that got it's swag on a 100,000 trillion, which have been gaining notoriety in the blogging community, as well as a few rarer tracks & exclusives. This is a first in a monthly series we will be pushing, so this is just the beginning. I hope you all enjoy this mix for what it's worth.
How I missed posting this up yesterday...I DON'T KNOW. Anyway Tunji had some words. Read the verbiage beneath the video and u'll know where i got it from.
My folks are at Viper Room tonight...and you all ready know how they get down. And if you've never been to a show...then get on it now. $13 in advance at www.viperroom.com or pay $15 at the door. Either way it's well worth it...trust me.
I local spotlighted Mr. Madison here...well looks like he's on the move again. He was a participant in Fall Out Boy's forum about voting and politics as part of their Artist of the Week coverage on MTV. Check it out. Hats off to my boy J. Madison aka J Skillz
As you know Convinced has been at work dropping freestyles everyday in preparation for his project: Refreshing. Well here is the video for the lead single "Miss Memory". This track stays in rotation. Peep this and send to all your friends. PEACE!!!
Riva opens today in Santa Monica, located at 312 Wilshire Blvd. This spot is the sibling to Culver City's Fraiche. The spot boasts intimate seating, patio seating...a small lounge for unannounced stop ins or go to the "pizza bar". All in all, it sounds like a good date spot or after work drop in with co-workers. Lunch is not yet available but will be in the coming weeks.
UPDATE: The restaurant pics were taken by Eater LA, I didn't pay attention to that when googling for restaurant pics. Hopefully they are happy now. Apologies to Lesley.
I guess this is the promo pic for this track because everyone is using it...and to keep it consistent...as well as racy but not pornographic...i'll use this one too. Anyways...new music from SAS.
DAY 30...u already know...off to Vegas later...gotta finish up sum things...peace. I holla back on Sunday...catch me at the Miguel show Sunday night. PEACE!!!
FCC member Kev just hit me with this 2nd Installment of Diz's exclusive live tracks for Hip Hop Official. You already know Diz gets it in...i've been down with dude since he did Getaway on Bleu Collar's 2003 mixtape...what ya'll know about that tho?!?!?!
My FCC connect Ges (KNOWxONE) put me up on this, and the rest of the FCC as well. I'm actually the last to post. This link won't be around by Sunday so download now...it's hot trust me. Basically Paul Nice blends Sade's classics with some of hip hop's most notable beats. Below is the tracklist and link for it.
2nite Planet Asia will be celebrating his bday at Busby's East on Wilshire. I had a little B'day pre bash here the day before my bday. Nice lil spot, cool atmosphere...so you don't have plans, so make some here. It's Thursday...can't hurt. Shouts to Tunji for hipping me to this...and I see the FCC counterparts have already beat me to the punch.
Part 2 of Hip Hop Official's coverage in regards to the Hip Hop generation and this OH SO IMPORTANT ELECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Video provided by Big Kev...one of the FCC connects.
I haven't fooled with Reebok since the Answers in 98 i believe...and I prolly won't even get these. Just can't do anything but Nikes really...but these are pretty cool to me. So I figured I'd post these up for those of you who may like Reeboks. Spotted at Hypebeast.
