Merc80 delves a bit deeper in the next few episodes. These next three are more about the state of music today and the differences between now and then. In this particular clip Ndugu talks about why he doesn't listen to radio (neither do I) and the secret behind classic records.

NDUGU CHANCLER: MERC80 INTERVIEW pt. 1 (VIDEO)
The homie did an in-depth interview with a musical genius and major contributor to many of the songs that have shaped hip hop today. Ndugu Chancler is not only a great musician he's also the father of a friend of mine, so to see him get some shine is great. He's a great guy and someone to soak up some game from. Peep part one as he talks about Michael Jackson vs Miles Davis, how he fell in love with music, and Miles Davis' role in music history. I will drop part 2 tomorrow. Enjoy.
Sidenote here are some musicians he's worked with that you may have heard of:
Michael Jackson. Miles Davis. Santana. Herbie Hancock. Patrice Rushen. George Duke. Frank Sinatra. Quincy Jones. John Lee Hooker. James Ingram.
